I have been staying in Barkly East since 2021 for work and always enjoyed their Eggs Benedict breakfast and Latte on the go.Today, I go there as usual for my fix and I'm now told by the waitresses that if I order a takeaway I will be charged extra R10. Mind you, this is the only place that serves this meal. Why all of a sudden?Tip to the hotel: Try and adjust your menu prices if you are looking to milk more money from your customers.From today, this hotel has lost one of its loyal customer. Will definitely not even refer my friends to your establishment.

excellent country boutique Hotel in the beautiful setting of the North Eastern Cape , this is a highly recommend country hotel with hand on service from the owner and her staff . expect to be treated with old fashioned values and respect ...Food is always good and portions are big and filling . Well done and thank you for making the stay in Barkly so welcoming

During our stay at the Royal Manor, we were treated like royalty by the owner and friendly staff. They serve the best meals that we have had for a long time. We recommend this Hotel to anybody travelling through or wanting to spend some time in Barkly East area. It is clean and nothing is too much trouble for them. Good value for money!

Very horrible welcome we received, ladies were not even polite enough to show us our rooms. As if that's not enough, an assumed breakfast was brought to us, when we told the lady we would like to have something else, a miniature sized muesli was given to us. One star is even too much for the treatment we received there...

We did not stay in the hotel.We were rather looking for a place which can serve breakfast, brunch or dinnner.You have two options-sitting either inside or outside. Can imagine that in winter time sitting outside could be a freezing experience. A cheese burger and a two eggs brunch was delivered promptly by friendly staff and it was tasty.Across the street is a sml pllayground for kids.Inside a variety of things can be bought. Take your time and snoop every table for something.This place is commendable.

What a wonderful find. We love sushi and are totally unable to get it living in the Eastern Cape boondocks, a friend told us about this place and it definitely did not disappoint. They have a dedicated sushi chef who really tries his best to please, and please he did. The rest of the menu is good solid country food, the prices are good. The setting is really beautiful, the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to please, the service was really top notch. The restaurant is clean and cheerful with a lovely little shop selling arts and crafts as well as jams, preserves and other snacks. I highly recommend this place. We did not stay in the hotel, but from what we saw it look really nice. One downside is that it isnt easy to get hold of them by phone, their internet is often down and it affects their landline as well, if you cant get hold of them email them.
