Moditlo River Lodge

It's an excellent choice! A nice lodge in the bush full of comforts and with a great service! You might see animals in the garden, harmless and peaceful, the feeling of being surrounded by them is absolutely unforgettable.. The staff makes the difference: the kindness of the waitresses, the receptionists, the manager made us feeling cuddled! To have one of the staff accompanying us to our room made us feeling totally save even at night! The game drive guide and the tracker are totally skillful and experienced! We had the immediate felling that they are the best in that area in understanding the animal's way of thinking and their movements! They were those who spotted the animals, and then communicate the other lodges guides where the animals are.. We saw plenty of lions, a leopard, cheetah, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, zebras etc etc etc.. I really felt safe!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. I enjoyed every single meal they served. The game drives were fun, we made good friends and saw a lot of animals. I would definitely visit again in future.Edit: If it happens to rain, they provide ponchos for game drives. The ponchos are extremely dirty, I have never seen anything dirtier. Bring your own raincoat if you can.

My partner and I had the opportunity to visit this beautiful lodge.Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed with smiles, drinks and refreshing towels. We were promptly assisted with luggage and thoroughly provided with all the amenities and the rules.Moditlo River Lodge exceeded all my expectations and provided an unforgettable safari experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by warm and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The lodge itself is nestled in a picturesque location Hoespruit, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness.The accommodations were luxurious and comfortable, with well-appointed rooms that blended seamlessly with the natural environment. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings created a serene and relaxing atmosphere. I particularly loved the private deck where I could unwind and enjoy the stunning African sunset.The safari activities at Moditlo were exceptional!!! The knowledgeable and passionate guides took us on thrilling game drives, where we had close encounters with Africa's magnificent wildlife. We spotted elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, cheetahs, squirrels, loads on antelope and an abundance of bird species. The guides' expertise and their ability to share interesting facts about the animals and the ecosystem added tremendous value to the experience.The dining at Moditlo River Lodge was a culinary delight. The meals showcased a variety of delicious local and international dishes, prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The attentive staff catered to dietary preferences and ensured that every meal was a delightful gastronomic journey.The lodge's commitment to conservation and sustainability was evident throughout my stay. I appreciated their efforts to minimize the lodge's ecological footprint and support the local community.

Moditlo is the perfect weekend escape! The rooms were clean. The food was tasty and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our pascaterian meals. We enjoyed the game drives, the tour guide was phenomenal, has a great sense of humor and super knowledgeable. The spa was great too. We throughly enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend this place.

Moditlo Lodge was easily the highlight of our South African trip. Really enjoyed the 2 game drives per day, it’s an unbelievable experience to see animals in their natural habitat. Food was great and accommodation- seemed much higher than a 3 star resort, and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We would definitely like to come back here again!

I couldn't have asked for a more incredible experience on safari in South Africa. Moditlo Lodge provided 5 star service to everyone in my party. The food was INCREDIBLE - every course was better than the last. They went above and beyond to provide amazing, personalized guest service and I learned so much about the animals and wildlife from the knowledgable guides. I can't recommend this lodge enough.

Absolutely loved my stay at Moditlo River Lodge. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We saw plenty animals and the Big 5 on awesome game drives. The rooms are SUPER clean. The food was tasty and continuous. And the pool and chilling area were just perfect for reading and relaxing. The spa and the cocktail bar are worth noting as well - incredible! Thank you to the Moditlo staff!!

The rooms and the service were top, we saw almost all animals we wanted to see, we were close to the animals and went off road a couple times. That said, this reserve has a lot of fences, a lot of the time you'll be looking at a fence and we found a group of giraffes and a group of cheetahs that were separated by the fence.

Great lodge with only 10 rooms, everything was very familiar and made our stay unfortgetable. The rooms or little lodges we're clean and food was delicious. Very nice staff, especially our driver Jika is a great guy, we had so much fun. We saw the big 5 within 2 days.P.s. Don't follow Google maps, you have to get to the main entrance gate to Moditlo Reserve.Only one little negative point is that a very loud train is passing the lodge (outside of the reserve).
