Prof Nel assessed 2 of my daughters and guided them in the correct direction after psychometric tests. He also motivated them to study hard and do their best. When there was a hiccup, my daughter consulted with him at very short notice, to support her and he wrote a motivational letter for her to present her case to the university. We are very grateful for his efforts and expertise.

Prof Nel has been amazing with his guidance that he provided to my daughter, Jaimie Naidoo. Jaimie was accepted to study Medicine at WITS this year (2023) and this was a dream of hers from a young age. Prof Nel, thank you for all your advice and guidance and also recommending the right people to assist Jaimie with this process.

Prof Zak Nel has a very special way to approach and motivate people, especially teenagers. He make them believe in themselves and that they are capable to achieve what they are destined for. His knowledge is amazing and I`m so grateful that we could gain from his wealth of wisdom, care and inspiration.

Prof Zak walked the extra 10 miles with us. My daughter was accepted at TUKS for BIS Multimedia. We came to get career guidance for her but received so much more.Prof Zak's gentle hand and real care made a deep impression on us. The referral we received to TUKS opened the doors that were closed in our frame of reference. This will be the best investment if you're unsure about your career path, and even if you are sure, go to him.We wish Prof Zak strength and good health.

Was a very disapointing experience. I thought he would take the time to find out more about my son, but only got him to write the tests and asked one question Are you an only child".Totally irrelevant? The advice he gave was so far off the mark we as a family still laugh about it. It seems he is very pro Varsity and not agreeable to look at any other options. Was a complete waste of money in my opinion and left my son more confused than ever!!"

I took my son to Prof Nel as he was recommended to me by a colleague. As a teacher I believed that for my son who wasn't sure about what he wanted to do and was taking a gap year after matric, it would be money well spent. Firstly, my son, along with a bunch of other kids, filled out a test that took about 1.5 hours, my son said he knew that test as he already did it at school and you can get it online. Then Prof Nel spoke to us for what must have been all of 15 minutes. He glanced at the test briefly then circled 2 paragraphs and asked my son to read the descriptions and say which type of person he thought he was. He then suggested my son be a film director a career my son has no interest in doing, even though neither of us responded positively to this suggestion Prof Nel then proceeded to tell us where he can go to study this degree that my son has no interested in doing. That was the extent of the consultation. I felt ill at having to pay money I put aside for something I thought was going to be a more personal, insightful appointment. I'm still angry I went. My son agrees that it was not worth it. He is terribly concerned by the fact that he doesn't know what direction he needs to go in...we are now both just doing research and looking at opportunities ourselves.

After seeing Prof Nel for my son 6 years ago I took my daughter who is in matric at the moment to see him on Friday. She was confused and unsure of which direction to go in and was even considering a gap year. He encouraged her and helped to confirm what she already knew in her heart. We applied to university on Saturday and pray she gets in! Thank you Prof!

Very disappointed by the experience. Very rude and unaccommodating staff. The communication between prof Nel and you as a client is very unclear and unwelcoming. Left prof Nel's in tears after a horrible experience. I would not recommend this to anyone unsure of what they want to study.

Prof Nel is excellent. I recommend him for anyone looking for career guidance. After my consultation I felt at peace and encouraged to follow my passion. He gives you feedback based on analysis made on your personality and acquired skills.

This man still gives me trauma and nightmares. I was a straight A student who particularly excelled at creative endeavours- art, design. I was also very naive, from a small town and with parents who didn’t know much about university. He recommended that I study BCOM Investment Management at Tuks, and made me apply for medicine as well - two things I knew in my heart were not for me. Nevertheless, being naive, new in a city and very apprehensive of wasting my family’s money - I continued with this Investment Management degree. I then met three students who told me they had also enrolled for the program based on Prof Zak’s recommendation. I found this very odd. And have always wanted to write this review. I could have been an architect. Or a civil engineer. Heck, even an actuary. I let myself down listening to this man. For all parents, sit down and listen to your children carefully. Listen and also do your own research - let them be the masters of their futures. But nonetheless, I will keep on fighting and get the career I want. It’s such a long, expensive road - but now at least I don’t have to pay anyone to tell me I mustn’t take it. I know in my heart, and can feel it in my bones. I’m a fighter and I’ll get to where I want to be. I spend most of my time painting, drawing, designing and was always like this - and I don’t know how I got the recommendation I got. Nevertheless, I chose to take it. You don’t have to, by all means, listen to what he has to say, but give your children the courage and enough information to listen to their hearts. Don’t force them to chase money. Don’t force them to chase prestige. What someone wants to become - it’s deeply routed in the heart and will be manifested in everyday actions - like with me and design and art. By all means visit this man, but don’t base career decisions solely on his recommendation - use other sources and listen to your kid. The decision to study what I studied has affected my life. I wish I could elaborate how. But I needed to write this review. I always think of that visit to his practice all those years ago and how it shaped my life. Just thought I’d add a disclaimer. Wanted to for years. Finally have the courage to do so.
