It's a good idea to have hot tea and dimsum in winter. (Be careful the food is hot) you can eat these for a break. Also, this restaurant has a lot of Chinese food. The taste isn't too strong that everyone can eat easily.

Can't get enough of the amazing food. Better than any Chinese food I have every had. Do yourself a favour and order the Xiao Long Bao and Won Tom noodle soup

We had a good lunch with beef noodle soup, beef rolls, and dumplings. Very satisfied after missing Chinese food for three weeks.

Some of the negative reviews are hilarious. Best authentic Chinese food that rivals my mom’s cooking. We demolished both orders of the xiao long bao and beef dumplings. Who cares about the decor? I find it, along with the woman/owner who served us, charming.Also food came out FAST. We were in and out in an hour. Coming back later this week, don’t let the secret get out to people who won’t appreciate it.

This place had the best soup dumplings a few years back but it seems to have changed.All dishes seem to be altered to suit the western culture. Portions and quality have dropped as well.You may find the lady owner to be rude or not accommodating but she means well!I’d return for a few specific dishes.

Tried it out with some friends over the Easter weekend. Xiao long bau was fantastic and juicy, the way it should be! Really enjoyed that. Soup noodle was bouncy with decent flavourings. Well made and quickly prepared and served. What more can you ask for.

Went for dinner with family after we decided to go to Sea Point to watch the sunset. Food was lovely with the only exception being when the chef made a mistake by putting a specific ingredient in which we do not eat into a dish, we told the waiter and they took it in but only just picked out the specific ingredient and gave it back to us instead of making a completely new dish.Otherwise, the dumplings and the noodles were delicious.Little overpriced for the experience and for the food we had, but will definitely go a little earlier next time when they not so busy and try again.Til next time...

Small family restaurant. No frills or fancy decor and service from the owner can come across as, being rude but this is not intentional. We wanted soup noodles. The won ton soup noodles were pretty good. The roll beef cakes are the best - it could do with a bit more beef.Update: November 2022 - great food. We had the Sui long bao, won ton noodle soup and cold dishes - so delicious - highly recommended.

Very authentic Chinese food that they serve here. They have many traditional dishes like small eats, soup noodles and dumplings. They also have many local dishes to choose from. The prices are very reasonable and affordable.As you know many Chinese restaurants don't have the finest in decors or services like your fine-dining restaurants. As long as the orders are right, the food tasted good and the place is clean... then you are good to go and eat there.

HeSheng is recommended by Hardie Property. Mentioned in Inside Guide as one of the best restaurants in Cape Town, we decided to give it a try. I went with friends from real estate in Cape Town and we had the dim sum to begin. I have to say it was superb. We had the chili chicken for main which was tasty but it was the dim sum that stuck out which we would go back for.It is always a good sign when the Chinese are eating at a Chinese restaurant.From the road you wouldn’t give it a second thought but definitely go in and try it.Richard Hardie, Hardie Property
