Bergheim holiday resort

Clean, neat, worth every cent! Old, but very well maintained. I am going back, again.

Located along the Magaliesberge ,the region is quite inviting. Although along the route ,on the one side of the N4 you have mining areas to the north and on the other you have the beauty of the sprawling Magaliesberge in the south.The Camp site is alright, not to crowded ,but the albutions leave a lot to be desired . There is no warm water in the shower (always a prerequisite for me) and although the bathroom floor is clean, some elements are somewhat neglected / dilapidated, the shower drainage system is blocked, so as you shower in cold water , expect the water to rise to your ankles.At one end of the camp site you have a large fish pond, although the sound of the froggies are pleasant,there is also a circulation pump that constantly sucks in air + water, so if you camp close to the pond, you will constantly hear that pumps suction.There are also multitudes of dogs in the area , so expect to hear barking instead of nature every few minutes, it's not constant but at least once during the night I was awoken by a cacophpny of dogs howling, moaning , barking and making all manner of frantic noises, as if an evil spirit descended upon them and possessed them all ... A truly unholy sound. 5 minutes later ..dead silence.The swimming pool is large and extremely clean , brilliant for swimming laps or just chilling in the water with your friends.The hyking /mountain biking trails are exquisitely beautiful and hyking up along the stream to the waterfall gorge is spectacular, highly recommend.R80 pp + R25 per vehicle for a campsite with an electrical outlet.

I would have given it a 5 if it wasn’t the attitude of the lady at the reception. She was grumpy and didn’t really explain the hiking trails well as other trail owners do. The trail and the views are to die for. I enjoyed the trail even though the welcoming was great

Highly recommend this to anyone that loves nature!! From Hiking, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing to even just relax! I absolutely love this place. I would not recommend anyone going alone as there is some places that is a little steep and dangerous, but other than that the paths are very well laid out. Track C & D will lead you along the river up to the waterfall, as for track A & B that will lead you up to the mountain. The view is of course breathtaking!

What a beautiful place. Good trails to walk and doing some kloof sighting with fresh cold pools. I mainly go for rock climbing. Camping available and very affordable.

Trail marking needs a bit of an update, can be a bit confusing finding your way back to start of trail. But overall lovely hiking trail, and nice facilities and pool. Ideal for a day trip or for a quick weekend away.

Hiking trail has quite a few options. I did the B mountain trail. Loved the scenery the fact that beside the heat,there was enough shade. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to be in touch with nature.Only thing that I didn't like is the marking. There are a few intersections that one had to follow the instinct. Even at the end of B mountain trail, there was no sigh indicating the end, found ourselves on the B Olifantsnek.As if that was not enough, we got lost again on the way to Camp. With improved marking, this trail has the potential to be great

Specifically referring to the hiking trail....the trail marking is the worst I've experienced ever.Get ready to get lost

Nice hiking trails but some route markers unclear so it's easy to get lost.

The hike is beautiful. There's no access gate and no security guards at all. I don't believe it's safe sleeping over at the chalets until they add some sort of access control.
