Amblewood Guest House

Utterly charming. A lovely cooked breakfast. Oh, and they've a really fast Internet connection! I know, it's a very strange thing to come out with, but it's true!!!!

From making our booking directly with June, to meeting you and Trevor, this has been an excellent visit. Your home on the hill, with its magnificent view over Hout Bay became our wonderful home from home for a week. Thank you for all the little touches that made it so special. Mum, in Cape Town for her 90th birthday celebrations loved her room (the Bayview), and being able to walk directly out onto the deck, while we enjoyed the comfort and elegance of your Victorian room, not forgetting being able to soak in the antique bath. Your knowledge of Cape Town and helpful tips regarding restaurants and the like lead us to having excellent meals out. Thank you again for the part you played in our having a most memorable stay.

Amazing host. Awesome breakfast ecery morning. Scenic place. Rooms are clean & cozy. Almost all facilties available in room like locker, kettle, refrigerator, bathtub, shower, charging points, wardrobe, TV, WiFi.

This is a truly special place! Trevor & June are the most attentive hosts without being intrusive. The house is quirky, charming & a total one off. Impeccably clean & comfortable with the best fresh breakfast ever. It’s the only guesthouse I’ve stayed in that has an honesty bar. Haven’t mentioned the 360degree views over the mountains & Hout Bay, but they are beyond words. I would go back in a heartbeat!

We stayed 4 days and had a lovely time in 2010. Trevor and June were perfect hosts, arranging for us to hire a wonderful guide for a day to show us the local sites. Wonderful breakfasts, clean rooms. I would choose them again!Erin (and mom, Donna)

Trevor and June are really welcoming and hospitable hosts. The view of the bay from the veranda is incredible.

Wonderful fresh breakfast each day. Friendly accommodating owners. The upstairs suite was a great place to stay. Highly recommended!

Please do not book the Amblewood Guest House B&B in Cape Town. They took my deposit paid in October 2019 for a Summer 2020 stay - and despite their public policy regarding full refunds with proper cancel notice, they have so far refused me any and all refunds. They cannot be trusted. I'll be glad to update this review if that changes. But I've been trying now since April 3, 2020 and today is June 27, 2020. Do not trust them with your money.
