We were treated to an outstanding tour of the Salt River art circuit. Nadia Agherdine was our guide, and she has an exceptional knowledge of the background behind every single of the many works in the area. An absolute must do for everybody - Capetonians and tourists alike. We also commend most highly how Juma himself bent over backwards to accommodate us at short notice after we had been let down at the last minute by another art tour guide. Thank you to Juma and Nadia for a memorable experience.

My girlfriend and I took this tour when we were traveling through Cape Town. Our guide, Zack, was a lot of fun! The tour itself was informative, and we got to see Woodstock in a way that we never would have without him. Thanks for making this possible!

Juma’s tour is a wonderful experience I would recommend to any visitor or local who would like to get to know Cape Town better. Juma is a fantastic guide and shares his experience in a relatable and informative way. He is also warm and friendly making you feel welcome and at ease. For Nelson Mandela Day last year we joined Juma to plant veggie gardens and to complete a mural in Khayelitsha. This was a great team building excercise and we got to know another side to Khayelitsha and would go back any day.

We contacted Juma through his website and arranged to combine a township tour with the nightlife tour. We also asked him to arrange transportation from our Airbnb, which he did at a very reasonable rate.Juma is a serial entrepreneur. In addition to his tour company, he has two bicycle shops, a sandwich shop and several other small businesses in Khayelitsha. He starts the business, gets it going, hires local people to run it, and does it again. He empowers the people to take risks and try things out. He is developing entrepreneurs. But his most visible enterprise is street art and gardens.Nomonte, our guide, is a young woman, born in Khayelitsha, dynamic and enthusiastic about the future. Juma and his crew have been painting the corrugated metal houses to decorate, reflect the culture, train the artists and protect the houses from rust. We were on the ground here, and stopped in people's houses to see how they live. It was an eye opening experience, one that every visitor to Cape Town should see. And Juma's tours are the best way to do this.

Juma told us to bring cameras and lots of love.. We had a bespoke tour of Khayelitsha and enjoyed a true local experience. I can’t recommend Juma’s tours highly enough. We left with our camera, hearts & tummies full! We’re still buzzing from our incredible experience! Will definitely be back! Xx

If you're thinking about doing a township tour but not sure for whatever reason, do it! I contacted Juma because I needed respondents for my masters thesis in Khayelitsha. At first, I was a bit hesitant because I had heard a few negative stories about the township and I was planning booking the tour as a girl alone. However, my worries turned out to be unnecessary!Juma is wonderful person and as described on the website, he promotes sustainable tourism. Therefore, it was very important to him that the people we would speak to that day, would be left behind in a good state. For me, this meant that after the interviews I would give the families a financial compensation for their efforts. Once in the township, he showed me all the good parts (which are unfortunately less known), stayed with me the whole day, helped me with connecting to 7 wonderful respondents and translate their answers and explained me all the details of the daily life and the built environment of Khayelitsha. There was no moment where I felt unsafe and I think you can't go to Cape Town without visiting a township (with a guide such as Juma). The city center is nice, but in these places the real people live their daily lives. I will never forget this experience. Thanks so much Yuma!!

Juma’s Tours is very inspirational, seeing a township in all it’s forms and how great the sense of community is in it. Also a lessen in humbleness, we should never complain in Holland.

My friend and I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour! Zachariah was informed, hospitable, curious and just a joy to be around. I have done street art tours in many corners of the world and this has been one of my favourites. He shared his experiences and the meaning behind the art with us. I can’t wait to do this tour again in a few years... hopefully the neighbourhood keeps its vibrancy.

I want to thank Zach for a most amazing tour of the Street Art in Woodstock. I absolutely loved it and have been recommending it to many of our friends.Zach was a very attentive and knowledgeable guide who engaged with us in a comfortable and professional manner. It is very special that he lives in the area and is able to add so many anecdotes of how the various Street Art works came into being, stories of the artists and how it has became part of the character of the area.It was truly a highlight experience and I highly recommend this tour.
