We passed through the town on a Sunday afternoon, and they were the only eatery open. There was loadshedding when we arrived, but the staff was gracious enough to prepare something for us to eat besides not having electricity

Very friendly service. This area was renowned for its Karroo lamb dishes at one stage. We ordered lamb chops. Unfortunately the chef covered it with some horrible tasting sauce and the real Karroo lamb flavour was not present.

We just stopped here to put fuel in. But gosh, Carnarvon is a dump, I can imagine that once it must have been beautiful, now the streets are littered with paper, empty cooldrink bottles, chips packets, cigarette butts, general rubbish, etc. Looks a bit like a landfill site. Don't know how people can live like that, no pride. So, we only stopped here for fuel because there's nothing else to keep you here... Sad

Excellent restaurant authentic to the area with fresh, free range world renowned Karoo sheep on the menu (along with the usual other popular food items). If you want to experience local food try the Karoo feast on the menu, really good! Friendly service, save parking, cozy atmosphere with a view over the town. Highly recommended for travellers and locals alike.
