Despite some of the reviews on this company, I decided to give Dries and his team the benefit of the doubt.Turns out, they’re amazing. Great job! Good communication. Very happy customer.

Dries and Gail's service is terrible. I could write an essay on the empty promises, little to no feedback on progress, poor turnaround time. I give them 2 stars because workmanship is good...got my chairs after a month when initially I was promised 10 days. If you're delayed it is right to call your client and tell them there is a delay.He makes loadshedding an excuse but loadshedding was only happening in the evenings. I was at a point where I had to threaten them with police and so my chairs arrived. The anxiety is not worth it.As I said good workmanship though.

Obsolutely shocking service & workmanship. They make you pay 100% upfront, and why, no-one will pay them for what they do. They lie and lie to you and run out of excuses. Don't go near them.

Two words: STAY AWAY. When I first contacted them, I neglected to check the other reviews warning me about them. Dries promised the world just to get the account. Initially he said 14 days, which would have taken us into mid May due to all the April holidays. When I said that's too far he said he could do it by end April. That was a blatant lie because it took until the end of MAY!Secondly, he simply does not communicate. He will not tell you about progress, delays, nothing, even when you ask. WhatsApp for unanswered and don't even bother trying to call because he never answers.The workmanship on my dining room chairs was good, I can't lie. They also did two of them free of charge.My lounge suite is another story. It was overstuffed and the filling is very firm, so it's not as comfortable as it used to be. The cushions are now so high I look like a child with my legs hanging off it. I I formed Dries of it on the day and he said it would settle over time. In addition he said he would install zips to make future retstuffing easier. He never did and when I asked about it he said oh we can't (then why did you say you can, and why didn't you tell me when you discovered it wasn't possible, instead of sending them back unfinished!?!)There were also small tears that he said he would repair but didn't. Again, an excuse given after the fact. After much nagging he sent someone out to put a patch over the tears. (This guy also can't use his brains and put the same size patch on all of them so it looks decent, but rather put a size appropriate to the size of the tear - good in theory but idiotic in practice)Now we get to the real problem. My mom also commissioned him at the same time. Her chairs are much more difficult and need to be disassembled to get to the upholstery. His guys made an absolute F*** UP of the job. They scratched the wood, cracked it, reassembled it so the joints are loose. It took forever to get him to take them back (excuse after excuse), and when they came back they were even worse. Now more wood was cracked and they had applied a stain that changed the colour. We elected not to send them back a third time and will get another carpenter to sort them out. Needless to say he didn't even reply to my request for a partial refund on the labour for these chairs.The cherry on top is that this was the most expensive quote I got. My stupidity for thinking I'll get what I pay for. I should have taken one of the other ones.Hopefully this review will save someone else the headache I went through.

Don't go near them!!! You will receive blatant lies and excuses over and over again. Messages just get ignored!! Had a lounge suite recovered and so off line the feet are not on the ground!!! Seems he has blocked me now and I will now go the legal route. Please stay away!!!

Please don't ever use Dries van der Heever from Urban Upholstery Solutions to cover your furniture. He made such a mess of my couches.He promised me that he would fix everything, it's going on for 6 months now but nothing has ever happened.I just want to warn you. He promises but nothing ever happens. I will be taking him to the Small Claims Court!!

Received amazing service from Dries and his team in reupholstering 29 of our office chairs. Service was very quick and the staff were very friendly and they gave us the best prices overall. Collected the chairs on a Friday afternoon when it was convenient for us and returned them early on the Monday morning again. Thank you so much for the amazing service. I highly recommend using them.

My beautiful chairs were delivered to me within a reasonable time-frame. I have made use of their services a couple of times and have received nothing but good service . ;-)

Dries collected my couches on 5 February 2020. He delivered them again on 29 February 2020. He did an amazing job. I have a brand new looking 3 piece lounge suite. I found his service excellent and his workmanship amazing. Completely transformed my couches. Will definately recommend him.
