Khaya Kite and Yoga House

Khaya really feels like my home in Cape Town! Even before I arrived Miri was super helpful and happy to answer all of my questions about my stay/things to do in the city and around. It's such a fun, warm and sociable environment with great people, and made my first couple of months in South Africa so memorable. I was able to work full time from the hostel, but often felt like I was on holiday with all the fun evening and weekend activities organised. Definitely the best place to stay if you're a kite surfer or wanting to learn like me! The Khaya family made me feel so welcome and I wouldn’t have wanted to start my trip anywhere else :)

There's no option to rate the vibe on google, but if you could Khaya would get 10 stars! Such a cool place to hang out and always full of friendly and interesting people. Within 5 minutes of leaving your room you'll be invited to go surfing, kitesurfing, hiking, wine tasting, raving or out to eat loads of tasty food with a cool group of people. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the place has a real hippy feel about it. Miri is an awesome hostess and makes you feel instantly welcome! Can't wait to visit again next season :) Lekke lekke!

A trip of a lifetime!!! The Khaya Kite and yoga house is the perfect example of an amazing Cape Town hostel. Miri and her Khaya family were very welcoming and provided great accomadation with entertainment, nourishing food and a large list of local recommendations. And with that, the Kyaha house is perfectly located next to the Blueberg beach with cafe's, restaurants, car rentals/public transport and an incredible view of Table Mountain all less than a 5 minute walk away.Miri did an amazing job hosting our yoga and hiking girls retreat around Cape Town and the Cederberg Mountains. Packed full of adventures, fascinating views and gave us by the far the best south african experience and knowledge. 100% recommend!!!

Lovely place with a great host and a very sociable group of mostly kite surfers staying there. Most people (including me) end up staying there for many weeks, which gives this place kind of a family vibe. Kite beach is in walking distance, so no car is needed to get your daily kite sessions in ;) And when there is no wind, people at the hostel often organize other activities together. Highly recommend to stay there and I’m sure I’ll be back!

Miri and the Khaya family were so accommodating and welcoming. I attended a yoga and hiking retreat and stayed at Khaya. It is a relaxing and safe place, as if you're staying with a friend. Miri was so patient with all the questions and suggested fun things to do before and after our retreat. She planned adventures that encouraged and challenged me to grow, and the meals were all delicious. I really recommend staying at Khaya and especially attending a retreat, as you will leave with a great experience of exploring parts of South Africa and gaining an extended group of friends!

I've been there for a week. Can say this is probably the nicest hostel I've ever been to. The location is fantastic for kite surfing, the atmosphere was great, the hosts were the nicest ever (more than willing to tell us all about the activities arround, and even took us on an adventurous trip up the mountain). I don't know how they do it, but there were only super nice guests in this relatively small hostel. The next time I visit Cape Town I'll definately stay here again.

Khaya Kite Hostel is amazing! I was there for 2 months and had the time of my life. The rooms are really clean and comfy! The owner maintains a really special, super friendly vibe, is really helpful with adjusting to life there, and organizes AMAZING trips and parties! Its a 5 min walk from the beach and all the best bars
