I can actually not believe I waited in line for 2 hours to only pick up a new card this morning (option for delivery to DSV locker was declined twice despite this being an option on the app, and I only learnt of this after my card was delivered to another branch twice). Despite the best efforts of the friendly staff, there are way too many people in the area that need to visit the few branches here, not getting the service that we pay you for each month. This experience is finally motivating me to move to another bank before I'd have to visit this branch again, there is absolutely no way I'm coming back.

Long waiting times with no fixed system or lines of who should be helped next or direction given of where one should go.Update:After 20 minutes I approached the manager to ask him where I should go, he informed me I should sign in at the front. Informed him that I was at the front, told to sit down by the reception staff but they never took my details to register me in the queue. Manager lost for words as to why my details were not taken

I walked in here HOPING the reviews were wrong. It took my poor boyfriend exactly 49 minutes to get helped. All he wanted to do was pick up his new card… it’s so poorly organized, there were frustrated customers shouting at the top of their lungs swearing in foul language around children (I understood their frustration) but security did nothing to manage them or their expectations regarding the time it would take for the wait…There was insufficient seating inside.The branch is TERRIBLY managed, but once you’re being helped it’s better. Unfortunately it’s going to take you around an hour to get any help.

Absolutely shocking service and waiting time to see a consultant. No order in what they help people. Consultants sitting for twenty and more minutes per client seemingly having great chats. Clients all complaining while sitting and being shunted from one chair to a next. Surely in this dire economic need more consultants can be hired??

This Standard bank branch is worst than the worst home affairs branch They make old people wait for more than two hours just to pick up an card. Standard CEO shut this branch or better get an manager and staff that wants to work.

Went there today to pick up my check card. When I get home I see that they've given me a debit card and completely screwed up my internet banking profile so now I can't make my monthly payments and am going to be charged extra fees for everything.Really really really bad.If you can help it, rather go to the Helderberg branch. I had no choice as the SMS I received said to fetch my cheque card at this branch.

Deplorable service at this branch!!! Staff member literally rolling her eyes and not interested to assist ... wish i had her name ... she was quite unnerved to even help and made it known she was aggravated to help !! Then upon saying as you walk out bank you just lost me as a customer after decades of banking with you to literally be told by a staff member that's ok" is utterly shocking and disgraceful! Well standard bank in a rapidly declining economy you should pull up your socks the competition is big and your bank is not soaring at the top!!! Stay clear of standard bank! Hoplessly useless and poorly trained and inefficient staff!"

UPDATE: Monday 15:10 15th August 2022the new manager Mandy has address the business systems of customer delivery, additional staff members were present and Errol and Janie served with a smile. Que was 5 pax and I was served within 7 minutes.12:47 Wednesday 10th August 2022The que at this branch is unacceptable and the manager Marlyn cannot implement the standard business sytems to operate effectively. Or does not have the support of effective and sufficient staff. Kindly explain to your customers why this is happening and what is being done to improve.There is no other way than reporting bad service delivery as there is not even a contact number for this branch just a call centre.

Very disappointed in Standard Bank Somerset West Main Road. They had no sympathy for a 79yr old pensioner that tried to withdraw R1000 from their ATM with her SASSA card only to receive a technical error slip and no money. Spoke with the staff there and was told that there was nothing they could do. She was told to go to SASSA. How is a 79yr old supposed to navigate this? Surely they must of had this type of incident in the past? They could at least tried to find out for her who to contact or where to go to sort this out? This poor pensioner was left with R980 after Standard Bank charged her R30 service fee for service that was never provided. Shame on you Standard Bank, your ATM your responsibility!
