4/5 - Great weekend breakfast in a restaurant with friendly staff and a great view.So we decided to have a breakfast at Mike's Kitchen after seeing an ad in my feed. It was the first time going to the restaurant which is situated between the McDonald's and base of the Holiday Inn. Arriving just after 10h00 we were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant with only 3 other families enjoying breakfast.Waitress (Jessica) was friendly and service was fast. We enjoyed the Rustic Potch and the daughter enjoyed the kiddies Chicken Strips and Chips. Both were most enjoyable and we topped it off with a cappuccino and an Oreo Milkshake (bit pricey but if you spoiling yourself is worth it - BTW they use REAL Oreos and not those fake ones cheaper places use).I've put photos of the menu below and as you can see the prices are reasonable enough for a special outing.Will we return,? Most definitely! The view was great, the food was great and so was the service.Areas to improve - only the bathroom could have been a cleaner in the ladies bathroom

Thank you to Management and Staff for hosting the children from MTR Smit Children’s Haven that didn't have anywhere to go during the June Holidays. They really appreciated the opportunity for an great tasting burger meal and the best tasty Milkshakes. good value for money breakfast...pity about the chips...probably fried in old oil and possibly refried...spoke to manager who was very engaged , apologetic and embarrassed.Hope they can resolve issue because it was the second time we had that same problem.

I didn't know that there was a Mike's kitchen in Summerstrand and stumbled on to this place by accident. No one greeted us at the door and we weren't sure if the place was open for business. After about two minutes someone came to usher us to a seat and we had quite the choice as it was very quiet. We asked the waitress and she said on good weather days they are a bit quiet for lunch as everyone is at the beach but she assured us that there was usually a healthy crowd for breakfast and that it would pick up towards supper time. My wife and I enjoyed the quietness. It did indeed start to get busy toward the end of our meal and I only realized the size of the restaurant as we were leaving. We received our meals approximately 25 minutes after placing our order which i believe is on par for what we ordered.. Both our meals were good and my steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it. Everything was clean and neat. Had a pleasant dining experience.

This is a restaurant that used to be busy before Covid-19 happened, maybe I visited at the wrong moment this time.Their service is fast and the food was great for the past two days, but today my sirloin steak and carrots were sour or off-ish as it has expired.

Really generous portions and a very nice venue on the PE beachfront strip. Very kid friendly, nice small play area, good bar and excellent menu.They have South African size portions and all the food we had was delicious.A few vegetarian options and loads of good starters.The waitrons could probably use a bit more training, but overall a solid value for money option whether you're a local or visitor staying at one of the nearby hotels. (The Garden Court is adjacent, and lots of others nearby). Walking distance to the promenade/ walkways (fairly safe) on the beachfront if you'd like to take a stroll after dinner.
