Good sport climbing and nice and shady on the hot summer mornings. A bit dodgy being there alone, but there are generally other climbers around.

Great place to climb and abseil. It is close to the CBD and thus easy to pop out after work, set up a short climb and enjoy the outdoors before or after work.It is a granite quarry which means it heats up and cools down quickly. Take warm clothes if you are going to be there into the evening.

Higgovale Quarry
A sport granite rock climbing area in a man-made quarry. Excellent crag if one wants to do a quick out door climb because the walk in is 3min and the climbs are short and of okay quality. Nothing to get to excited about. The area is nice for a picnic and for the kids to run around as they can't go far and you can keep an eye on them. There is a locked gate, which you can scramble over on the right hand side. The gate keeps unwanted humans out and the pets and kids in.

Higgovale Quarry
Higgovale quarry, a favourite amongst Cape Town Sport Climbers. Set in a quarry on the lower slopes of Table Mountain in the suburb of Higgovale, it is centrally located. With multiple grades and abseilng it is a super venue , especially if you want to introduce your kids to outdoor climbing.

This is such a great place to learn abseiling but sadly the area is full of trash and broken glass and doesn’t feel at all safe.
