If you want to experience dolphins - then you definitely get what you pay for. Do no attempt snorkeling if you are a novice as they are not there to teach you how to snorkel. The team are patient & extremely aware of the environment - which is so pleasing. This makes the ponta experience extra special. Carry sun screen & water. wear a rash vests

Angie is extremely passionate about the dolphins and ocean. She has many years experience.

Angie is very knowledgeable guide who gave us a thorough briefing before getting out on the boat. She has tons of experience doing what she does- leading up to the trip, she kept me abreast of sea conditions, wisely postponing the launch until we had calm seas. She advised us to keep near her as the dolphins recognize her and come to her. But once the boat, when we we rode around looking for dolphins, she didn't say much. I assumed she was focused on doing research or something, but after Dallas spotted a pod of dolphins, and skipper Mooch gave chase in our rubber inflatable craft, we eventually gave up and moved to a different area, looking for more dolphins. we never found any but did spot a couple of mating eagle rays. Angie jumped in after them, leaving us all in the boat. skipper mooch said we could snorkel the reef now and so we did, but by the time we reached the area where Angie was, she was already moving back to the boat, having captured some photos or videos of the rays for herself. My son and I saw a few fish on our own and a very nice lady who runs the Sapphire Sands helped my daughters identify a few fish (I couldn't tell if she worked at dolphin encountours or was just a local friend of Angie's) but after only 15 min in the water, we were back on the boat and soon, on shore. it wasn't until i was paying my bill with Angie i asked for an explanation on why we didn't get into the water with the dolphins when we saw them. she explained they weren't in the mood. probably a good call; no sense in swimming with large animals who don't want company, but I have to say I left the experience feeling a little cheated. Maybe I overhyped the experience in my mind preparing for this vacation, or maybe it was a bit of false advertising on their part. I could quibble with the fact my invoice says 2.5 hrs at sea" when it was actually 2

It was not a good experience overall. Although the guide was extraordinarily knowledgeable about marine life, the price we paid was not fair for this tour.There is always the possibility of not seeing marine animals and the tour has to be justified if that happens. It has happened to me on a Safari that I didn't see any animals, however, the tour was so well organized that I would repeat the experience. Not this case.From the overload of technical information we received at 6am (important to know how to pass the information to people that are not from the same field), to the absence of snacks (there is no cafe open for breakfast at 6am), to the cold I spent on the boat because I was poorly advised by the guide, this was nothing more than a bad boat trip.Obviously I think that if there would be marine animals, this would be different. But again, if you charge the same price, at least the tour has to better organized.

I have experienced swimming with dolphins a few times and not always it was a good one so I am able to compare and my experience with Dolphin Encountours was the best one. Very respectful to the wild dolphins, professional and dolphins have been very calm and interactive. It is possible to see beautiful built up relationship between Angie and dolphins. Very recommended!

Truly a place of integrity where intimate experiences with our dolfriends are possible. It was life-changing for me.

Wow what a wonderful morning. We went out just the two of ,plus one of their volunteers. We had no expectations , that might be the secret!. What we saw we would be happy with. The crew were professional and accommodating. Thanks .They even changed the launch time for us to 6am. A dream come true we swam with about 14 dolphins that morning. Learnt a lot. We had a great experience we saw pod of dolphins. Along with dolphin watch we were given some time to go snorkeling at a really nice reef area.

What an amazing experience. Ash and his team are absolutely great and have made the outing so much fun. Our group of friends could not have asked for a better experience for our first visit to Mozambique. You are truly safe and they provide you with all the necessary information beforehand.
