I got injured whilst cycling solo in the forest. I called Jacques Brink from KCW and shortly after the call for help he arrived, checked on me if I am OK and arranged for medical help. He took care of my bike and personal belongings without me having to worry about it. He also offered to take me home from the ER in Knysna.Jacques is an asset for the cycling community with his knowledge of cycling and the cycle trails. I would highly recommend him for anything related to bicycles and cycling.

WOW - What phenomenal service! I rented a bike for my son this past week-end. They opened the store after hours to accommodate. They didn't have the correct size in the store so the owner went to his house to collect another bike! Where do you get service like that!Thank you guys - keep up the great work!

I have been dealing with the guys and Alta at Knysna Cycle Works for over 20 years. Their prices have always been reasonable, their services always excellent and their community spirit exceptional! There are regular mtb rides from the shop (#RideWithALocal will get you in touch on social media) and they know the Knysna Forest as their own back pocket. Visitors can rent mountainbikes as well. Anything bicycle and bike trails really, just speakers to Jacques and the guys at Knysna Cycle Works!

Horrible guy with terrible bikes.The owner didn't want me to use his mountainbike, because it had been raining in the morning. He was afraid his bike would get dirty! After some convincing he let me rent it. However, when I got up the bike at the start of the trail, the pedal broke immediately. I wasn't even cycling yet! I fell and dislocated my shoulder. Apparently, also the other pedal 'broke', which means they were just poorly assembled by the owner and didn't break at all.After I was back in the shop, the owner didn't even apologize for something that was obviously his fault. I keep thinking he did it on purpose to prevent me from making his bike dirty...Anyway, would try somewhere else if I were you!

Booked my MTB in for a service - to adjust the front derailer and change brake pads. No phone call to advise additional work was required. No phone call to advise bike was ready. When arriving at the shop, was presented with a non-negotiable R2k bill. And if that wasn't bad enough, the shop owner -Jacques- has probably the most client unfriendly attitude I've experienced for a long timeSo, if you want a super nasty over priced client experience, then Knysna Cycle Works is your shop.

Great service from communication up front by WhatsApp with Altha, flexible bike rental (as we were late on a weekend..) till transport to the Harkerville trail head and back by Altha and Jaques themselves.Only thing to be improved would be a spare tube and a pumb as we got a flat tire despite tubeless set-up. But luckily quite at the end of the red route that we can highly recommend for the very diverse kind of trail and the nice view

I'm not sure if I just had awful luck with south African bike shops but when I tried to hire a mountain bike for a ride in the local forests, I was told that because it had rained the day before I could only take the bike around the town (as they'd get muddy in the forest)! Not really my idea of a good mountain bike ride and living in the UK I tend to expect my mountain bike to come home muddy after a ride!I wondered if the ground here would be interminably muddy after heavy rain due to the soil conditions, and the bike shop knew something I didn't, but we went for a walk in the forest that day instead and it was completely fine....

Very fast and professional service for a good price. Literally finished while you wait. He replaced a broken spoke and took out the wobble in my wheel.
