Sanctuary Mandela

Not too sure about the rooms they were fully booked. The food was delicious and service was outstanding. Must try the rosemary and citrus gin cocktail a must. Thank you to Tumi who was our tour guide she was outstanding.

Madiba's old house restored and changed into a great memorial of how he lived. Absolutely a must see !Restaurant on site serving amazing food and drinks !!

Lovely and nostalgic!Beautiful gardens coupled with historic paintings and letters from the late President Mandela.The Jazz Sundays are a Fantastic pairing to the themes of the house, it helps one embrace the intimate yet unique melodies each musical piece has to offer. Sydney Mavundla and the band did a wonderful job.The food is great- three course meals with not much desert options, however it’s still worth the try. On the down side, I don’t think they pay attention to the brief “tours” of the home, offered in between meals ( feels Abit rushed and not well prepared). Nonetheless, phenomenal idea to salvage this house that was once abandoned- who knew it would be later be a HIT.I’d say go check it out :)

Absolutely amazing place , the staff are on point super friendly and super welcoming, the Manager is a true gentleman and does a phenomenal job , when they say: “Welcome home” they truly make you feel it ..

what a venue, it is like staying in a museum, with a very modern restaurant. a great young chef! highly recommended establishment.

Visiting from Norway we had a couple of amazing days at this historic place. Everything was perfect! Beautiful and elegant rooms, high quality food, and exceptional service. In combination with the history and heritage a unique experience. We also visited the nearby Nelson Mandela Foundation and its exhibition which really added to the overall experience. Highly recommend to stay here. But a great place just to go for lunch or dinner also.

Sanctuary Mandela is a former home of Nelson Mandela. The staff is very friendly like family as they all work great together. My wife and I have a new extended family here. There is small bar for drinks, a Cafe, and small outdoor pool. The chefs are excellent in fixing the very delicious meals.

I visited Sanctuary Mandela recently with a friend during restaurant week, and I have to say I have not had such a unique restaurant experience before. From the initial greeting being Welcome home" to the food feeling like home and the staff treating you like you're at home. Tata Mandela's spirit definitely lives on

Best thing about this hotel are the staff. So friendly and really makes you feel comfortable and at home. The facilities are wonderful and food amazing! I would recommend to anyone who wants an awesome overall experience.
