Okay for fishing. In my opinion not a great place to go camping with little kids. Expensive.

Vischgat Fishing Resort
We were there this weekend, I found the Staff to be very friendly and most helpful. The Chalet was very clean and had a homely touch, basic needs were catered for. - the grounds are very well maintained, child friendly and my doggie had a ball - large grounds -. The Fishing was superb, caught a lot of fish, a nice surprise was the floodlights at night over the fishing grounds - no need for torches etc, there is also a tap at the water front - very useful. All in all I would like to thank the owners and staff for a super getaway- We will definetly be coming back - Well done guys

Excellent campsite on the bank of the Vaal river, with water and electrical points at every camp site, a braai and fireplace also provided. The owners are very friendly and accomodating and have ice and firewood available to purchase.

Vischgat Fishing Resort
Owners do not answer their phones. Bookings are made but when you arrive, there are no spots allocated. Very small space. 3 groups of fisherman were on the front and the space was completely full. Fishing was terrible. Many obstructions in the river causing you to lose rigs and fish if casting far out. Facilities were horrible. Toilets were in a state. Taps do not work. Property is not maintained at all. Will not be going back

Good value for money... The chalets are neat and clean.. sadly when the river is in full flood it makes fishing there almost impossible

Quite and serene. Not to far from shops and right on the Vaal River. Great place for day fishing. Safe and fun for the whole family

There is a lot of restoration happening and still only in the beginning stages. Needs a lot to be done but overall the river has a great width could be stunning place with the correct maintenance

Cabin was surprisingly nice, small quiet place. Everything we needed was in the cabin, only took towels. Will definitely go again

Vischgat Fishing Resort
My husband and I visited from 8-10 September 2022, we stayed in the 2 man chalet above the ablution blocks. It had everything needed and the small extra decorations were lovely and appreciated.We caught a lot of small fish during the day, just be ready for snags in the river. Fishing area was beautifully kept with a braai close by. We also enjoyed watching some donkeys and Zebra grazing and even spotted a fish eagle.

What an awesome day fishing with my girlfriend.Caught 4 small fish but this time of year its normal to not catch any.I will definitely be going back in spring
