Lythwood Lodge

This place is very clean and has excellent amenities. Staff are very friendly and inviting. The cottages are well maintained. We were given biscuits as a gift which was a nice gesture. The drive to the property is a bit rough thou, so a 4x4 is recommended.

I attended a wedding at Lythwood Lodge and it is breathtakingly beautiful, the rooms are stunning, the Manager/ owner John is an amazing guy, the staff is helpful and attentive. It was an experience I will never forget. Although it's far, it's worth it!

I have been going to Lythwood for years and every single time I have had an amazing time, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spotless and their attention to detail is outstanding. The food is extremely good value for money. I cannot recommend Lythwood enough. If you are wanting peace and quiet with beautiful views and amazing food, then this is the place to go.

We spent four nights at Lythwood Lodge in February. Had the most comfortable stay. Staff were excellent, food great and environment beautiful (despite or enhanced by some rain). Such peaceful views of rolling hills and cattle and horses silently grazing nearby whilst a full river down in the valley rushed over rapids into the distance. The 7km drive over rather rough roads is worth it - part of the experience of being in the country!

We booked into Lythwood Lodge in the Midlands for a three night stay over New Year 2022 wih our two Yorkies. This was our second time here after a great experience we had last year the same time. We always recommended the place to family and friends. However, we had not been informed 1) that the river crossing was flooded (not even a courtesy call from the lodge) and driving through this was scary, 2) that the rules for dogs had changed. When booking and checking in we had not been advised rules had changed. Dogs are now NO longer allowed in the entire main Lodge previously it was just the restaurant. No where are these rules visible and the manner in which we were approached (while seated in the lounge waiting for our room to be cleaned) was unacceptable with conflicting reasons given. After deciding to check out earlier (due to this) we were told that we now needed to pay a cancellarion fee of 20% (no remorse from the lodge). The reasons given for having to pay the cancellarion even more ridiculous. The lodge was empty with a few guest. Lythwood Lodge started our year off in such disappointment and ruined our new year holiday. It overshadowed everything else. We will NEVER be back and we do not recommend staying here if you have fur babies

Cannot recommend this place enough! The staff were amazing, as was the food for our entire stay. The lodges were all very clean and well looked after with beautiful views from the window. The owners were also great and ensured everything was perfect for the guests. Would definitely visit again :)

We had a family reunion there.The chalets are spotlessly clean, quality beds and linen and the most beautiful setting.Any request or small problem we had was managed efficiently and with a smile.Will definitely be back, it's a heavenly spot

A great accommodation which is a bit hidden away. A nice place to relax. Staff were friendly and the rooms were great.The only downsides we had were related to the food. The person handling that department wasn’t very sure about prices and had to double check things. We were given inflated prices every time we asked, which seemed wrong. That made it discouraging to make use of those services (breakfast, etc).

Had my wedding at this venue 2 weeks ago and my oh my. I’m at a loss for words. It’s turned out to be everything I has envisioned. John and his staff did an impeccable job they served us so selflessly. Highly recommend it.
