JAC (Johannesburg Arts Conservatory)

I began with WGRUV dance company January 2022 and I have had the blessing of training alongside JAC students under the mentorship of the world renowned JAC faculty.I was exposed to both Vaganova and true Martha Graham technique and although it was a challenge to change the way I have trained for years, this opportunity has been incredible! The teachers at JAC are truly amazing, they're caring, kind and help you reach your goals by equipping you with the tools to enter into a professional world of dance.My experience with JAC and WGRUV has been the most technically advanced and intense training I have encountered over my dance career and I look forward to years to come,where I am motivated to learn and grow in both my dancing and in my walk of life.

My classical training took a huge leap (quite literally) when I started at JAC under the highly acclaimed resident ballet, contemporary, and Spanish teachers. JAC is a dance school where you not only grow technically, but also learn to develop your personal artistic brand" within each style of dance."

I have been blessed with world-class training with both JAC and WGRUV Dance Company. The standard of etiquette, discipline and opportunity has been phenomenal both inside and outside the studio.Alongside being able to take from our main techniques at JAC and the dance company such as Martha Graham technique, Vaganova method, Escuela (Spanish) and Flamenco, we are able to utilise these tools and perform with as much strength and artistry as possible.Most importantly, the care and effort put into all students and company members is outstanding and it truly makes a difference, on stage and off.

JAC is an environment where not only the dancer is nurtured but the person behind the dancer is too.The training received at JAC is like none other you will find in the country. This is a school where your technique will be taken to international standards.

I have had the privilege of dancing at JAC for a year and a half now it has really shaped me as a dancer but also a person It is a loving and nurturing environment full of hardwork dedication to the students truly a wonderful place to learn grow and make some good lasting memories

JAC is a ONE OF A KIND dance facility in South Africa. In all the years of being involved in the dance industry, I have yet to come across such an amazing organization.It caters to all the needs of strong dancers, aged 12 years and older, who’s dream and ambition it is to pursue a career in dance. As not all dancers aspire to become classical ballerina’s, JAC aspires to train, mentor and shape dancers in a diverse range of genres, with the best trainers and coaches the industry has to offer.Full time students receive training in classical ballet, pilates, conditioning and contemporary dance as well as music theory. Each month guest teachers from across the globe offer classes, either live or virtual, that contribute to the training of well rounded dancers.JAC is not only suited to full time students, but also offer part time or A La Carte programs. Classes can be booked on their website.JAC makes every effort to create performance opportunities where dancers can share their passion with the audience. Soon, JAC will have their own outdoor space to showcase their work whilst adhering to Covid regulations.The heart of JAC lies in the strong values and character they continuously build into the dancers through the JAC Connect Sessions that will become a guiding light in their futures as they navigate life, with or without dance.We are truly blessed to be part of the JAC family!

My experience at JAC over the past couple of months has only been positive. This truly a facility where the focus is on the student as a whole, while providing top-notch training in classical ballet, contemporary and spanish dancing.

JAC is an extremely professional setting, where you feel accepted. Our daughter has grown from strength to strength not only in her dancing but in so many other aspects emotionally and socially. The JAC environment is really special. The faculty make a point of caring for each individual in a holistic manner. Body, mind and soul. Everybody works to the best of their ability with so much support, encouragement and guidance everyday. The faculty at JAC are not only teachers but MENTORS! So many opportunities are opened for you at JAC to explore. Our daughter has been so inspired by the many international artists that JAC makes available to the students either through zoom or live classes! We are so grateful to journey with the JAC family.
