Kudos to the authorities for maintaining the raw beauty of the area! This was such a great day out and for those thinking of exploring on your own, it is POSSIBLE. The only fee you pay is R360 (non-citizens) but you’re able to self-drive at your own ease. I did two hikes around the different capes and there’s nothing like it around! You’d be able to see wild animals like whales, ostriches, baboons, springboks and many more. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

Cape of good hope, it’s a real tourist attraction, everybody wants a picture at the sign“ most southern point of south Africa”Beautiful coast line so special. Be careful though when you drive through the mountains, it can be very narrow at times especially if a bus is coming from the other side or if you would want to overtake a bus. SAFETY FIRST!!!You can see seals in the sea and on the rocks. For the rest… just enjoy all the views and wind and sun and music of the waves of the sea

Well worth the drive from Cape Town! It was basically a whole day excursion. I had a rental car and like to explore the coast so was not in a hurry driving! You can hike to the top of the Cape for great views or pay and take a funicular. I opted for the funicular, fast and easy up and down. I did see several Zebra and Ostrich driving in by the side of the road. Apparently there are wild Elan roaming about as well! Oh and those pesky baboons! Be careful!

Beautiful drive through the park to get to this point! Definitely go to the light house as well as to the beach. We saw amazing views from both including many wild ostrich roaming about the area. Endless hikes, trails and adventure await, worth a day trip from Cape Town for sure! Make sure not to spend all your time at Boulder Beach with the penguins and save some time for the Cape!

Had a great experience. We walked up to light house, what a nice to challenge walk to such height. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes. It was quite windy but the views were magnificent.

Cape of Good Hope
Beautiful place and it was definitely cool to see the most south westernly place of the continent. The beach is gorgeous and the park is filled with the aroma of beautiful Fynbos, known to grow in the Cape Town area. There are tons of hiking routes, places for picnics and photo oppertunities. They have a light house but I would recommend hiking shoes and water for that trip. They have few wild animalslike ostriches and the baboons seem to be extremely chill. The park also has a restaurant so it really has everything you need. I loved the no cash facility at the enterance!!

Amazing history! The feeling of standing at the lowest part of Africa was thrilling. We went in our summer, so it was their winter / which means a sweater and maybe a hoodie is needed to fend off the winds from the water. Plenty of parking for busses and cars and there are great gift shops and restaurants and cafe and easy coffee. The scenery is breathtaking! You need to be careful that the baboons and ostriches don’t steal your lunches if you are brown bagging it. There are public, clean bathrooms. I would suggest booking a tour because there are very winding roads to travel with a stunning vista at each winding turn. If you keep driving around the coast to Sea-point there are absolutely hundreds. of penguins who love jumping into the crashing waves. With their families. This was a true adventure with the meeting of so many cultures and languages, history and devastatingly beautiful scenery.

Important tips. It’s quite expensive for non South African residents check the prices before you goThe restaurant at the time of review had. O alcohol. It was due to their licenseBe aware of baboons! I saw one enter the shop and steal two bags of chips.Take the Funicular up and down. Don’t waste your time walking and it’s cheap.Best time to go is weekdaysMake sure to also check out the other roads along the beach. The Cape of good hope is not just the lighthouse. The road the to the beach has a lot of big wildlife.

Definitely worth the trip. I recommend going up the little hike up to the lighthouse for a beautiful view. On your way down from Cape Town, go through Boulders Beach to see the penguins, on your way back to Cape Town go through the other side, Atlantic coast, with beautiful views as well.
