We stayed in Beaufort West and the park was about 7km away on the outskirts and was easy to find. The staff at the gate were always friendly, we visited for 3 days as day visitors. There are 2 loops, the 1 takes about 45mins and the other about 2.5hrs. the shorter loop is mostly tar road , the longer 1 starts with tar but mostly gravel which is generally drivable with any vehicleThe vegetation is generally quite sparse , typical of the Karoo area and you not going to find the big 5 here. We were fortunate to spot 2 of the lions on 1 of our drivesThe longer loop has some amazing views of the valley and there are a few viewing points and an enclosed picnic area with toiletsOur best sighting was of the bat eared foxes foraging for food, 1st time we have seen them in real lifeSaw plenty zebra, eland , red hartebeest , ostriches , kudus

Beautiful old Afrikaner history, splendid 17th century Dutch architecture. Superb improvements thanks to European colonies.
