Stones Pool Bar

If you love playing pool (I mean really love it, as in seriously), you’re not going to enjoy it here. The tables are in terrible condition and depending on what time you’re there, you won’t get a chance to play. The place is peppered with young and wasted students who don’t actually care about pool and the music is too loud for you to have any conversations unless you go outside, so if that’s your vibe, you’ll love Stones in Observatory.

A lovely, large place with plenty of safe parking. Lovely deck with great views of our mountain!! Good menu with good prices.

Had a good time here. Was definitely better visiting during the day than at night. Got extremely stuffy and hot inside due to the amount of people inside. Even on the deck I struggled to breathe and cool down. Maybe some more open windows would be good on busy nights?Otherwise, drinks are well-priced and the vibe was lekker. Good choices in tunes and friendly staff. We'll be back!

Always have a really great time here with friends. Well priced drinks, good music and a nice atmosphere all-round. Just keep your phone and valuables safe as I have had a few friends phones gone missing there.

Both the bouncer and the manager treated me in the most inhumane way I have ever experienced. Not only would they not admit me into Stones, but they both failed to provide a reason as to why. I asked at least 12 times as to why they would not admit me into Stones - a place I frequent at least twice a week - and both of them failed to provide reason. I was happy to provide ID as I am 21 years old. I asked calmly several times as to why I was being treated in such a vile manner. I am heartbroken instating that I was physically grabbed and assaulted by the manager Jarred and told “I don’t need a reason to not let you in, I just don’t want to”. I have bruises and scratches from the incident. I spoke to Nick, who I know is in collaboration with Stones at Two4One - a place I also frequent as a local - and he expressed his distaste for the behaviour expressed by the manager Jarred and the bouncer. I am so disgusted and heartbroken by the events of tonight. I just wish I had video footage of it. As much as I love the space, bartenders etc, I hope that nobody experiences what I experienced tonight. All I wanted was to play a game of pool as I have done often in the last year, yet this experience has made me question whether I am welcome as a black queer woman in such a space.

Bar men and woman are very nice and easy to order from, pool tables are largely in good condition and it's cheap to play. Reccomend.

Almost always you can find an open table and the tables are generally in good knick. Drinks are well priced and the music is not too bad, and sometimes quite lekker.

Always good, just less white pool balls then there is pool tables so we had to wait 30 mins for a ball last night

Honestly sometimes the ball situation is annoying but the vibe makes up for mismatched pool balls. Drinks are good, staff are friendly and approachable. Lack of ashtrays outside but I see that as a positive because then you kinda have to interact with someone. Great place for introverts and extroverts alike. Queer friendly. Yeah they're definitely the best Stones bar nationally. Location, location!;)
