Heartless service from the VET for an afterhours emergency !!!Travelling from DUR- JNB we found a starving pit bull terrier. She had obviously been used fighting and for breeding . She had just given birth and had been hit by a car. She was scared , cold and covered in ticks and fleas. We called the vet for some advise and he showed absolutely no care or concern for the dog. He was dismissive , frustrated to be disturbed and didn’t care where we left the dog. His words ‘ well what must I do , I’m not the SPCA’.All we wanted was some advise on where to take her , which animal shelter / SPCA he would recommend .But we got rudeness and heartlessness instead.We managed to get the dog to the SPCA and sort her out.Thanks for nothing , perhaps consider changing professions.

My family and I have taken our animals to Dr Van Tonder for as long as I can remember. Not only is he exceptionally gentle with animals, his knowledge of veterinary sciences is unrivaled. I admire the doctor and commend him for his hard work and compassion. There is no other veterinary doctor that I would rather take my animals too than him. Charmaine and Val are exceptionally friendly and really go out of their way to make sure that all your needs are met. I have never had a bad experience there and nor do I believe that I ever will.

What a fantastic knowledgeable vet with his now qualified daughter by his side. They are like batman and Robin.!Took a pup I just acquired from a terrible previous owner/breeder the pup was riddled with parasites and infested with ticks .But 6 injections and an extensive consultation I happy that this pup is going to be on the mend.Thank you Van Tonders!!
