Everything about this restaurant is good. Bongi's excellent service, biggest best prepared sole I have ever eaten, delicious starters, and everything made and served with Portuguese love! One of Mossel Bay's very best eateries.

The view..... sensational! One of our favourite places to eat in Mossel Bay. Great, authentic food prepared with good ingredients. Great atmosphere. The owner Eugene is a friendly, welcoming host who understands the restaurant and hospitality business well.

Bad experience, wouldn't recommend to anyone.We are from Pretoria and enjoy Portuguese food. We went to Vista do Mar based on that.We waited almost an hour for our food. We ordered pork espatada, chicken espatada and calamari. I would have refused otherwise but we were hungry so we had to eat it.The chicken and pork was dry and stringy. The meat was also not on the skewer as per usual which means it was handled. The chicken espatada also had wings on the plate which is difficult to eat especially with utensils, and espatadas are ordered precisely for ease of eating. Wings also contain less meat and more bones than the regular deboned thigh meat on espatadas.The sauce on both the pork and calamari looked like it came from a plastic bag and was just heated up. The vegetables also looked and tasted like it was previously frozen. The calamari had a rubber texture and the portion was tiny.And that at quite a high price. We don't mind paying for food but at this kind of price it is just a rip off.I wouldn't serve food like that to my customers.The waitress Lisa was very friendly. I gave a complaint to her in writing and asked her to give it to the manager or owner.I would caution anyone against going here, especially if you enjoy good food and having your food in time.

We had the beef espetata and the beef trinchado. It was delicious , but I would've expected it a bit more spicy . Th view makes the waiting time pass in a flash. Next time we'll have the seafood.

Beautiful view of the bay. Authentic food. Owner stopped by to welcome us. Be aware that this restaurant doesn't offer salad options.

A lovely authentic Portuguese restaurant by the sea. Excellent staff and a great open cooking environment. Loved the sardines! The only negative was a lot of smokers on the undercover outdoor dining area. The pateis de nata's were the best!

When you are looking for a relaxed dinner with amaizing food and good service, Vista Do Mar is the place to go. Go before sunset and you will have a spectacular view.
