Farmgirl Flowers
One star, only because I did actually get some flowers, the customer service was disappointing, and the flowers were actually supplied by another company. It was a really disappointing experience, especially because all of the rest of our wedding vendors had provided exceptional services. My husband and I grew up in the area, and I loved how the fresh flowers smelled and looked. To me, they were the ideal flowers for my wedding, where we specifically wanted to support local businesses and in particular, people near where we grew up. I specifically chose Farmgirl Flowers because of the quality of Sandra's flowers that I had encountered previously. Friends and family warned us against this because of previous incidents involving either not being paid for services they had rendered to the family, or the products that were provided. When the time came, my mom sent multiple emails with information about what we wanted, and asked questions well in advance- these were answered with minimal information and only occasionally. Unfortunately no one was available either telephonically, or in person when my husband went to the shop to speak to someone. This all followed us asking for the DIY package because I didn't want any specifically constructed floral arrangements, but with this request, it seems like there was no longer any interest in providing quality customer service.A week before the wedding I got a curt message asking for a final order to be placed because the flowers had to be sourced from somewhere else, following a severe hailstorm that had hit the farm, along with others in the area. I was well aware of this, having had friends in the area still. I gave specifics regarding what I wanted, along with photos of my colour scheme and specific flowers we had found on one of our visits to Farmgirl Flowers. This was all over whatsapp despite attempts to call. The flowers we collected had next to no fragrance at all, and only very few of them did. They were beautiful flowers, and mostly good quality roses although some of them looked to have started to dry and wilt. However, they weren't what we had asked for, and could have been obtained elsewhere for a lower cost, had we not been led to believe that the replacements would have been of the same quality. Perhaps the farm had been hit as severely by the hail as what it was described, but when we arrived the morning before the wedding, to pick up the flowers in person, the farm didn't look as damaged as I had believed. It just seems that given that we were taking our business to a small, family run farm near where we grew up, that there would be some interest in providing reasonable quality of product and service, which was not delivered. Unless brides plan on spending tens of thousands of Rands on the top packages, I really don't recommend using Farmgirl Flowers, and definitely not using the DIY package, because you won't get the service, or product possibly, you were looking for.
