Hout Bay Manor

Great Lunch! breakfast served till 3.30pm. Menu, med/Asian fusion. Strawberry milkshake too sweet. Lovely ambience, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Tasteful decor.

I visited the Hout Bay Manor for lunch, the setting was very relaxing, the waiting staff were attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming, the food tasted excellent and the variety on the menu was well chosen.

This is a quaint, enjoyable hotel right in HB. Walk across the greensward in the morning and enjoy a world-class cappuccino at Hout Bay Roastery. Food is OK at hotel, but you won’t be writing home to tell mom about it. If you want to do that, and enjoy incredible views, try Tintswalo. But, if you want something old world and quaint, this is an excellent hotel and I enjoyed my stay.

Lovely atmosphere. A bit chilly to enjoy the outside. Staff were accommodating enough to allow us to move indoors. Variety on the menu but the high tea menu did not have anything for vegans.

Lovely setting, attentive staff. We went for High Tea, good value for money. Unfortunately our table was next to the smoking table which wasn't pleasant....constant flow of smokers to the table...very off putting. The venue was full so there was nowhere to move to.

Really difficult finding parking and even finding the restaurant area of the hotel. Service was decent. Food was meh. Dry scones and sickly sweet cupcakes. We had the high tea platter and it's decently priced for a lot of nibbles.The best part of the place was the wedding reception that was going on. Would have given this place 2 stars if not for the vibe and great music from the party. The room where it was being held looked very elegant.Bathrooms are super fancy, old world vibes.

Went to have breakfast at the EAT restaurant situated within the Hotel. The outside courtyards are beautifully nestled under large trees creating a wonderfully relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The menu had a nice range of choices for breakfast. Enjoyed the experience and will be going back.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms quite comfortable. However, we ran into a number of issues with poor service, being ignored, and generally feeling unwelcome by front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff during our three-night stay. It may be that we just fell prey to successful marketing, where the website looked great but overall staff training and service couldn't back up the promise of how things appeared online. Or it may be because we were a mixed race family of five (Black, Brown and white) and the vibe and culture of this former estate simply couldn't accommodate us as *guests*. It did look like some locals and visitors, all of them white, were receiving hospitable attention and enjoying themselves. I recommend you stay somewhere else.

A classy establishment. Excellent a la carte menu with a special menu for asian dishes. Beautiful well chosen decor in the cafe area adds to the ambiance. Lovely outdoor patio space occasionally with live music, jazz etc. A lovely place for a romantic dinner for two or a special birthday celebration. Also for a dinner treat. Five stars.
