Dr Smith is an excellent dentist. Not convinced they have the best dental mechanics though..

Always the best experience. Dr Ian Smith is always polite and gentle. Definitely my number 1 choice for dental work.

We live in Monte Vista and my sister always praises Dr Smith as she has been going to him for years. So my son needed a root canal done and we decided to book with Dr Smith. My son said he is an absolutely fantastic dentist. He explains everything he is doing and is very professional and experienced. My son doesn't like going to dentists at all but he was extremely happy.

I found it really difficult to believe my own experience after reading these reviews. I have booked an appointment at this place for 8:30 in the morning by calling two weeks ahead. It was very hard to locate the premises on the Koeberg road, it is quite hidden away. I called reception at 8:24 to advice that I was searching around the block for the entrance. After asking couple of people outside I found the door and came in at 8:30. I was given a form to fill at 8:31 in and there was another patient. While I was filling in my form, the assistant came and invited the other patient in without looking at me. I finished the form in about 3 minutes, it was one page. I kept waiting and waiting but nobody was saying anything. I started to worry around 8:45 because I have taken off work to come for a confirmed appointment. I was told that doctor will be done quickly but yet they didn't give me time. I realized that the other patient was permitted to go ahead of me while I was sitting in a waiting room. I asked the receptionist why they didn't tell me that I had to wait for him to finish first, but I was told to take it up with the doctor. She was looking quite annoyed because I disturbed her using her phone. I was called in at 9:15 when other patient was done. The doctor was already aware that I was unhappy (I think it is understandable) but have said nothing to apologize for the unexpected wait. Then I have said that I was told to take it up with him that I was made to wait for 45 min in the hall without telling me and I asked for another appointment. Instead of apologizing and giving me another appointment, he advised that I will not be charged for this and it was his full right to do what he did without telling me anything up-front. I did not not doubt that what he did was legal, but it was a matter of ethics and professional principals. I do not ever feel comfortable trusting my teeth and my valuable time to people who have disrespected me in such way. I believe that not only I should be forgiven" the charge for unprovided service while I was in the hall

I have been going to Dr Smith since a child and recommend him to everybody. He is such a good dentist.

This was our first visit. Very friendly receptionist, assistant and dentist. Old school style. I am VERY impressed!!
