Roodepoort SPCA

I have supported the SPCA for over 10 years with wonderful adoptions making beautiful additions to my family. The process is long and sometimes frustrating but well worth the wait as you know they're doing this with the best interests of the animals at heart. Our recent addition is a lovely kitty and we hope to give him a blessed life with us.

Very friendly and super sufficient, stood there for a while completing the form, and I must say, the lady dealt with a lot.... she made you feel at home and were very sincere with us having to put our old girl down.....

I am there often. A message for the public: Please look after your fur babies. To have an animal is a lifelong commitment. Please don't abandon their paws because YOU can't adjust. They will give you oodles of love if given ½ a chance.If you are looking for a pooch. Go to the SPCA. They all need a forever family....

Horrible service. It took them a week to fully explain the criteria for adopting a dog. Only on the day of our meet and greet appointment they told us our dog has to be sterilized and we weren't allowed to adopt ANY dog because we have a power breed dog. They didn't even give us a chance to see if the 2 dogs were compatible. They expected us to bring our boerbull (not cat friendly) there and walk past their tons of cats walking around. We asked if we can do the meet and greet differently for the sake of our dogs mental healh as well as their cats safety and they said no. They were rude to us over the phone, spoke over us and had terrible communication. They lie on Facebook about people not coming to see the dog saying the dog is available when there is a long line of people waiting for the dog. I wanted to adopt a puppy after losing my dog to old age only to find out how horrible the SPCA really is.

Heartbreaking to see so many beautiful animals waiting to be adopted. Staff were helpful and their Facebook page is great for getting updates.

Took in a stray cat wirh kittens. Very helpful and kennels were spotless with lovely beds for cats and clean litter trays.

Well looked after and pets are cared for.Tobey is home and happy here, thank you everyone

Went Today at , Saturday, to turn in an animal, who's life prior to me giving in a few days before I have just saved , it was half the size of its other siblings of the same age and hasn't ate or pooped in days , Not only did the lady working there , thick hair , lady of colour completely lack any empathy toward me ,but also has the most snarky comments and sorry to say but the worst nasty cruel attitude for this kind of job - keeping this anonymous incase my animal gets treated worse after the review unless someone important needs the info.

This SPCA is really amazing. Staff is friendly and looks like they love what they do. The animals are very cute. Adopt don’t shop! They have beautiful animals there waiting to be adopted.

SPCA always does an amazing job in my eyes. They dedicated their lives to these animals. Note that every animal does come with an adoption fee to cover vaccinations and sterilisations. You may not adopt an unsterilised animal. The soca replies through calls and emails, not google reviews. They also do not do free services for everyone asking. They need the funds to support these animals
