Crystal Ballroom is probably Perth's best dance Studio. Richard Morrisey who started the place trained in London and has practiced and shared floor space with some of the best dancers in the world. He's a big part, probably THE biggest part of the reason why I'm a serious competitive dancer and dance teacher now.If you come to his studio, you will find a wonderful place where the teachers are kind, and competent, and fun to learn from and really believe in what they are doing. As a beginner, this is the place to get the foundation that will make you feel comfortable on the dance floor and ready to have fun. As a serious dancer, this is the place that will give you the grounding and theory that will make you a champion!P.S. regarding some of the bad reviews... they aren't actually true and were not actually written by people who have been to Richard's studio. Go and check the place out for yourself :)

I've been dancing out of the Crystal Ballroom for nearly ten years now and I have not once been disappointed. The Crystal is a fantastic studio for social dancers and competitors alike providing not only thorough coaching at the highest standard available in Australia but also a fun and friendly atmosphere.This ballroom is the place to go whether you're a beginner just starting out or a seasoned competitor. They took me from being an antisocial eleven-year-old with no idea of what I was doing to a person with aspirations of a career teaching dance and made the journey not only enlightening but enjoyable and I've seen the same or similar happen to numerous other individuals and couples.The staff and clientele at the Crystal are all one huge family and those who learn there will not only receive great instruction in the craft of ballroom dance, they will make friendships that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend this studio as the place to learn for both children and adults of all skill-levels.

Ever since my first lesson here crystal ballroom has been a friendly fun place to spend my time. The owners treat me like a part of the family and the teaching is of the highest quality you can get anywhere in the country.In a year they have taken me from barely knowing left from right to winning dancing competitions. If you want a fun place to learn dancing from people who know their craft at the highest level, this is the place to come.

After over 6 years of attending the Wednesday night classes at Crystal Ballroom I can't thank Richard and Julie enough for encouraging my love of dancing. They have created such a welcoming social environment to learn . I have learnt to dance at other ballrooms and Julie and Richard as well as there other teachers are truly amongst the best. Crystal Ballroom is a fantastic place to learn to dance. I had been out of dancing for years, I dropped into Crystal one day and felt instantly welcome and comfortable. The coaches are World Class, you can't get any better. Perhaps those not satisfied with Crystal are not suited to Ballroom Dancing.

Visiting Perth we were pleased to find a social dance last Friday night (4th March) but the result was disappointing. No greeting or welcome at the door from the grumpy bloke who seemed unhappy we interrupted his more important work on his computer! The floor was terrible - sticky and very hard on the legs. Music was pretty ordinary with lots of false starts with an inexperienced DJ. On a previous visit we attended a social dance here on a Tuesday afternoon run by a lady. She was welcoming, professional and played excellent music. Went to five social dances in Perth during a 10 night stay but this has to be rated the bottom of the pile for value and quality. Best value social ballroom dances in Perth are the Swan Studio in Midland on a Saturday night (4 hours for $ 15) and John Murphy Baby Boomers at the Riverton Leisureplex (3 and a half hours for $ 15 with refreshments) on a Sunday evening which are run professionally and have excellent floors to dance on with great music.

I’ve been dancing here for about 2 years and I absolutely love it! The staffs are really nice and inspiring! Next week on the 6th of May is competition and I hope I’ll get a lot of medals! I wonder if the people who rated Crystal Ballroom 1 out of 5 have actually been there! Use this comment when you make your decision when you’re unsure! (By the way when I say unsure I am referring to going to Crystal Ballroom) Sorry if this doesn’t really make sense!!

We am puzzled by the negative comments about the Crystal Ballroom. Since commencing to dance there 5 years ago my wife and I have been very impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the owners and staff. Group and private lessons at Crystal have enabled us to improve our dancing skills and enjoyment of dance considerable. At the same time we have met some terrific people there. I left an expensive jacket there recently and the owners kept it safe for me until my next visit. Never heard of things being stolen at the Crystal Ballroom.Cheer up the people who find fault everywhere. Life is short.Alan Wells

Crystal Ballroom is an excellent venue. After over 25 yrs away from social dancing [bringing up a family] we discovered this ballroom 3 yrs ago. With great support from their friendly staff we knew it was the right place to come back to learn the basics again. Since then we have taken advantage of their professional assistance through their beginners/intermediate programmes which have given us the confidence to attend Ballroom and New Vogue dances around Perth with great ease. Thanks to Richard, Julie and staff for their patience and encouragement along the way. We also appreciate all their hard work in organising those Quiz Nights, balls and other fund raising activities outside their normal dance schedules year in, year out. Please keep up with your excellent work for you are bringing a lot of enjoyment to us and our circle of friends. Dancing is such fun...give it a try! Kathy & Robert

Never danced before in my 49 years. Been getting private lessons from Ash & Julie for the last 6 weeks. I'm amazed at how much I've manged to learn in that short amount of time.Both Ash and Julie are excellent teachers even to people like me with 2 left feet. An excellent venue so just get into it.
