Illovo River Lodge is only a short 25 minute drive from Durban so it's our favourite place to go when we need to get away from the city but time is limited (like after work on a Saturday morning).The wooden units are very well maintained and there are two bedrooms (with 2 beds pushed together or separate) and two bathrooms (with a bath and a shower) in each one. This makes it perfect for a small family or two couples.Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the view is fantastic! Illovo beach is lovely and just a 5 - 7 minute walk through the grounds.

Lovely venue. The rooms are spacious and tidy - the views are warm and inviting, with whales playing in the breakers just off the beach. The management team are clued up, friendly and efficient. Look forward to our next trip. Thank you very much

We ran away for a weekend to just get away from the city. What a wonderful experience. We were welcomed by Glynn who ensured we had everything and were comfortable. The little tree houses are well appointed and comfortable with everything you need to relax and enjoy your break. Beach access is a 5 minute walk through the grounds. But the best thing about Illovo River Lodge is the tranquility and sense of peacefulness not to mention the beautiful views and birdlife. We loved it!

Such a beautiful venue, very peaceful with sightings of Monkeys and Mongoose. The view from the balcony made me not to want to leave home, so peaceful.

This place is the perfect getaway spot. Very quiet. I recommend this place a thousand times

A tree-house hide away!What an amazing place!We didn't know what we were expecting when we booked and now we can't wait to go back. The log cabin was very spacious for us, a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 boys, a teen and a preteen).I felt as if we were staying in a tree house, with birds coming to visit us everyday. We had a stunning view of the sea (which is what us Vaalies want) and even heard the waves crashing on the shore. Heaven!! Was lovely to be away from the crowds of other holidaymakers msking it a perfect place to unwind and relax.Glynn was very helpful and made sure we were happy and comfortable. Hubby braaied almost every night at the communal braai (which was cleaned everyday) while the kiddos swam. What more do you want while on holiday?

Beautiful getaway not too far from the city. Peaceful,clean and the owner is a pleasure to deal with. Easy access to a quiet beach as well as the river mouth. This is also a wedding/function venue....well worth a visit!

Excellent value for money. Very friendly people. If you want a break from the busy city this is it.
