The Continent of Sulina

Enchanting home to many fairy folk, angels, pixies and magic. This is an iconic museum to visit whenever you are in Swellendam. I first visited about 10 years ago and was stunned with the beautiful display of fairies all around the garden. Great place to bring children and even tourists too. Have some coffee in the garden as you make some wishes with the forest folk. They have beautiful gifts to purchase as well.

Whenever we pass through Swellendam, we find this place closed. However, as the rain started to close out a very hot day, we found the gate open and the garden inviting. Photos don’t do it justice, the amount of love and care that has gone into the garden and the rest of the property. Peaceful way to spend an afternoon.

So so beautiful, I had an absolute blast. The gallery is beautiful, fully stocked and just all around amazing. Really enjoyed this experience and will be returning.

Lovely outing, keeping fairies and mystery alive. Our grandson, 3yrs, loved it. Wanted to touch more things, which made it a little difficult. Thankfully the playarea got some energy out and stunted the need to touch. He really liked it. I found the gallery a little eerie- all those painted faces with strange expressions as you walked in. Reminded me a bit of a Stephen King movie.

What a magical fairy garden and experience. We had a lovely walk through and it was a great stop for us to recharge on our journey. Between the enchanting walk and happy staff, it was a wonderful experience which I can recommend to anyone with kids or young at heart

Beautiful place with such a peaceful feel. You can feel and see the love and effort that's gone into to it. Really nice place for a picnic and lovely facilities for kids to enjoy

This was a wonderful experience, even as an adult I felt as if I am in a fairy tale. The characters are so cute. The staff are extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Will never forget the experience.

Wow this was stunning. The kids loved it, the wife loved it (and even I loved it). So much effort has gone into this amazing place. The detail and the lush plants and greenery really make it such an experience. It’s great for kids although keep your eyes on your littlest ones as mine wanted to touch everything so we had to constantly watch her. There’s a kiddies play area and tables where you are allowed to bring your own food and have a picnic.The staff were really friendly and so kind. The gallery inside has a shop where you can purchase items similar to what you see in the garden (and more). As well as a private collection that is not for sale.If you visit Swellendam, the fairy sanctuary is a must! Check their website or google listing to make sure you visit on a day that they are open.If you are in a wheelchair it may be difficult for you to navigate the entire garden.Kids will love it. Takes you into another world.
