Be very careful and make sure you check the car as it may have damage and they tell you the car car has no damage. MOST IMPORTANTLY: when you you hand the car back please get you paperwork fully filled and signed for refund they will tell you we only refund 7 days later and make up things and retain your deposit. Went through 2 rounds of complaints to get my money back. ABSOLUTE FRAUDS!

Just one thing. Keep your vehicle check list handy when you return your vehicle. They could've told us before hand.... Otherwise, we rented a squeaky clean Suzuki, with friendly check in staff, and friendly trolly helpers.

Worst hired car experience ever.The first vehicle we got was dirty inside and had no jack, the canopy door did not lock.So they apologize and we waited 30min for another vehicle.The second vehicle's canopy did not lock .Totally waste of time. This was @ 1730 1830.We were told the manage would contact us in the morning to arrange another vehicle. It's almost noon next day and no call yet.Our insurance has forced us to use First Car Rental as this is a replacement vehicle for our vehicle that was involved in a accident.

Cheapest for a reason. 2 hour wait to pick up a pre booked car.Every other car rental agency was not busy at all.

Same experience as others with them charging me an additional 6 liters of petrol even though I filled up the tank prior to arrival. Scam artists of the highest degree. The car has a 25 liter tank, so with 6 liters “top up” the tank should definitely not have displayed “FULL”. Do NOT rent here. Was supposed to rent from them again in March but rebooked with Budget.

Very bad experience for the price and what next door companies offer.Car:Car without side mirror adjustment switch, no windshield washer fluid or water, radio doesnt work.Staff:0 friendliness from staff to check the car upon receiving it.Employee asks to be bribed for covering up" on a non existant scratch.Charged fuel filling fees while it was filled to top just before the airport.Dont waste your money and go for other alternatives"

We had a very positive experience with first car rental! I was very nervous after reading numerous negative reviews, but upon arriving the check in process was straightforward, our car was in excellent condition and a staff member did a thorough inspection. When we returned the car, we were not charged any additional fees, we were only charged exactly what was on the contract. No additional fees for petrol (we filled up at the BP 5 minutes from the airport). Overall, very honest and straightforward experience. Would recommend!

Superb service. None of the usual car rental nightmares. Had an issue on the go, but after a call they were happy to exchange the car for another at a different depot, no hassles. All above board. Thanks!

Buyer beware! I rented a car for our Christmas holidays. Service was very good at the start and we were happy with the car provided, a Proton X50. This was one of the more expensive options in their fleet. We returned the car and refuelled at the Sasol petrol station just around the corner, about 200m from the drop-off location. I recall the attendant making a few attempts to ensure the tank was completely full; something you pay attention to when you're running low on foreign currency. Yesterday I received a charge and admin fee from first car rental for refilling the tank, with an additional 10 litres. I disputed the charge but the customer service officer insisted it was possible. The proton website states the tank is 45 litres - how they found another 10 litres of space after being completely filled prior does not seem possible or reasonable. It's disappointing that the experience ended on this note as it had been going very well. I would not use a service again that I did not trust. The next incident could cost far more.

Excellent service from pickup to return. All involved were courteous and helpful. Car also clean and without fault. A later query which was down to my misunderstanding was dealt with quickly and efficiently. A very refreshing experience from a car hire company. Highly recommended.
