The R62 is a great highway for bikers, there are not too many people living next to the route, the fences are still intact resulting in few animals wandering along the roadway. Upon arriving in Calitzdorp one should take a break, there are several excellent restaurants in town, simply park up and enjoy a well earned refreshment and some grub.
