If you are considering installing a solar system that will accommodate your needs and you want peace of mind that it will deliver the necessary results then there is only one choice Ross Muller at Grid Freedom.They did a world class installation at my home and the results have been mind blowing. To the extent that I am now going to utilize them to also take my business off the grid!I cannot recommend Grid Freedom highly enough as their backup service has also been of a different level. When you convert to solar there are so many ongoing questions and Ross has not only been pateint but always available.The Victron equipment they install is best in the world and the results reflect this. Also from an aesthetic point of view the panels they use are modern, super efficient and look good.I am more than willing that you see the detail of the exceptional results that my installation is achieving.

We decided to get solar as I work from home and Grid Freedom was our first call. The quote was reasonable and after some delays in securing the financing on my side we accepted the quote.After some delays due to stock shortages, Drew very quickly resolved my issues and the team from R&N installed my system within 2 days instead of the quoted 3 days.The equipment is of high qaulity and the installation extremely professionally done. Nolin and his team is extremely responsive and helpful with the system weeks after the actual installation and are always professional and friendly.The team also stays in touch via WhatsApp to ensure everything is going as planned. Even the delivery team is exceptional and handles the equipment with care and are at the same time friendly and accomodating.I highly recommend Grid Freedom if your looking for a professional installation of a high risk investment.

I had my system installed in Feb 2020 - Goodwe Inverter, Solar Panels, Pylontech Batteries and a Solar Geyser. Installation was professional & neat and by and large the system has been functioning reasonably well except some quirky issues I had with the inverter. Grid Freedom arranged a trade-in on the Goodwe and it has now been replaced by a 5kva Sunsynk. I find the company tries to go the extra mile for their clients but I suspect their support resources are somewhat stretched due to the extraordinary demand for solar installations in the recent past. I would however imagine this is the case with most companies in this space. Being over two hours from their head office I sometimes struggle to get the necessary technical support timeously. Therefore the four stars and not five.

They were thorough in their assessment of our needs and attended to my queries and expectations with pride. Pricing and installation was prompt and we are extremely pleased with the efficiency of the product. Happy to say no more Eskom problems for us.

I come from an area that has load shedding up to six times a day or sometimes more. We heard about Grid Freedom Group from a family friend. Whilst installing our system there was theft of personal valuable items from my home by the installation team. There was alot of back and forth but after numerous calls and meetings the matter was resolved. After some time one night at 8pm, when we had a total system failure. All the batteries were not working. After an investigation, we were told that all our battery’s Battery management systems had failed and blown. We were given temporary batteries whilst they were going to fix our batteries. We asked why because all of the surge protecters were working and all that was said was “we are not too sure” and that was fine however whilst fixing and or replacing the battery components. My plant manager Ross Muller, so in my mind when I have questions to ask I’d ask him because I thought it was his job to manage my plant because his name was there. It was pleasant at first. Then our calls were not answered for days, sometimes weeks and no apologies or reason why he wasn’t answering my calls. When I asked Ross Muller why hasn’t he returned any of my calls he said “listen, I’m a very busy guy”. All of a sudden, the batteries were returned to my home to rough condition because they were not packaged right. From looking perfect to looking terrible it really broke my heart because I believed that they were good people at heart but after this it seemed like they were not. I spoke to Ross Muller after they took the batteries to get fixed again and this took more than a month. He said that he wants to install the batteries and “fix” them later. I said no because at this point I knew after they took back there batteries we could have to chase them to get it fixed. He used a car as a example and first “ you see when you get a new car and the tyres are wore out. You take the car and replace the tyres later.” I asked him how would you feel if you bought a brand-new car and there were scratches all over it. I asked him if he’d buy it? He laughed and said “okay buddy, okay” and cut the call whilst I was still trying to talk to him. I spoke to Ryan Marais and told him about the situation and Ryan had told me that we cut the call because he could not hear me. This was false as Ross and I were on that call for a very long time and if we could not hear each other we would of called again or called back which Ross has not done. From that day I have heard from Ross and I think that was very childish of Ross. When it came to returning the batteries, Grid said we are coming at 3pm at 6:45pm when we called they said they were still coming may be an hour before we get there. Please trying to stay within business hours because its not right and if you say you are coming at 3pm come at or around 3pm don’t send the people at night. I’ve had a very traumatic experience with Grid Freedom Group. The batteries were sent back twice and were not fixed proper till this day. And I am sorry but when things go wrong take responsibility do not point fingers at the people you out source the work we paid you to do. I would like to thank Ian for trying to communicate with us properly and got back to us when he said he was. Unfortunately from my experience I would not recommend Grid Freedom Group to anyone however I hope people out there have better luck because we are not paying small change for this system.

My wife and I had our solar/inverter/battery system installed 6 months ago. Throughout the entire process Grid Freedom Group have provided excellent service and were reasonably priced. We had an issue with our batteries a couple of months after the installation which they rectified immediately, even coming out on a weekend. It's an expensive initial outlay, but we don't even notice when there is load shedding anymore and we've seen a significant decrease in our electricity bill. We already believe that it's been a fantastic investment.I estimate that the system will pay itself off over 9 years if electricy prices never increase - although it will be much quicker than that, as Eskom prices already went up 15% in July and are expected to go up a further 20% early next year if Nersa approves.Our reasons for installing solar were:To avoid load shedding,To reduce our carbon footprint,To a lesser degree to reduce our electricity costs,Because we love technology ;)P.S. Their installation is perfect - it's our roof that isn't perfectly straight.

Great company using Grid Freedom. We used Dylan from Sales who did our Site inspection and kept communicating and kept us updated as well as the rest of the Team. We had a few challenges from supply side but were resolved by them quickly. R & N Electrical installed our Solar System who are part of them were absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended. What a pleasure dealing with Grid Freedom Group, they gave us professional service from start to finish. Logan took the time to meet me on site, to ensure that we got the right spec for our requirement. We wanted a hybrid solar system for load shedding and longer periods of infrastructure failure, and we ended up with a good overall balance. Nolin and his team of technicians did a neat installation, answered all my questions and even followed up to ensure that everything is working as expected. The system works great, and the app makes it really easy to adjust the settings for different weather and load shedding patterns. So glad we did this.
