Very friendly staff, but not great service though. Forgot our food order first and then took an hour. Wine was very average too. Wish I could give a better review because of the people :(

Esona Boutique Wine Estate
We couldn't do the full wine tasting but only tried the chenin blanc's 2018 and 2019 in comparison. That was definitely a highlight for the day. :)

Lovely setting overlooking the vines, and the downstairs outside space was particularly relaxed and pleasant. It was a lot more rustic and back to basics than other places we visited- the staff were friendly. Wine tastings were reasonably priced (60 ZAR for 6 tasters as their simple package). The wine itself wasn't to my taste, and the whites were served warmer than I would have liked.

What an amazing find. A unique tasting experience that I thoroughly enjoyed being able to compare the various vintages to each other. Such an brilliant venue that even our daughter thoroughly enjoyed. Will be back soon.

Esona Boutique Wine Estate
Unique venue set in old rustic cellar surrounded by vineyards. We enjoyed the cheese and meat platter, toasted sandwiches and ice cream. The vertical wine tasting they offer shows the later vintages of the Chardonnay, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc to be better. Enjoyed the 2017 Chardonnay the most. Beautiful views. Free wifi.

The wines weren't great, but that was most probably due to 1) the clearly dirty glasses or 2) the glasses with clear, in plain sight, water and soap marks.We waited forever for each of our wines, while being the only table there.

Great spot overlooking the vineyards, and customer service was warm and welcoming. They have a selection of platters to share, and being hungry on arrival, we made the error of ordering a platter and a pizza! The platter selection was exceptionally generous, enough for 4 people, and so we ended up taking away the leftovers.

Great views, BUT the pizzas are shockingly bad. When the tomato paste base is so freeze dried it presents as rusty coloured stain" on the dpugh

Lovely deli just outside Bonnievale which has an extensive and reasonable menu. The roasted chicken salad was excellent and the portion was large. Excellent service and a lovely view of nearby vineyards.

We enjoyed a wine tasting and lunch. The food was good. The wines are lovely, service was good.
