Carla and Neels embody what it means to live meaningfully and with a full, open heart. They were instrumental in ensuring we got our bag back from our airline, which had been lost for days, running around on our behalf without us even knowing. How incredibly caring. They share their beautiful home and garden with others, knowing full-well that the goodness they put out into the world comes back tenfold. We were lucky to stay with them. It is a wonderful memory we won’t forget.

Just a wonderful, pleasant experience, from the booking to the reception right through to the departure. Carla and Neels are lovely and caring hosts in a magical setting which oozes creativity!Jan and Lin Viljoen.

Me, my husband, 2 years old & 8 years old sons went to check the place directly as we were in our road trip around western Cape, and we are super happy with the way they treated us and the beautiful huge garden and forest with peacocks, cats and dogs around and everything there so beautiful, we bought some costumes as well as carla is a Mask designer. They got kitchens to share with other guests, beautiful BBQ area outside , make sure you use the water carefully as they as sustainable accommodation. There was some power cut in the evening ( as you are in South Africa ) and there is no generator, so its dark and no wifi so when there is electricity make sure you charge your batteries and also shower and do all the things that you need to do. but we went to a restaurant by the beach recommended by Carla and it was great, We definitely want to comeback if we ever visit South Africa again. And in the morning just across the road there is this delicious italian breakfast place with out door play ground for the kids and also bird rescue park.

Maybe one of the most magical places on Earth. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a full artistic and authentic South African experience. Carla and Neels made us feel right at home, the setting is as peaceful as it comes. In short, don’t stay anywhere else on the Garden Route.

I requested a masquerade mask from Carla with a few (3 or 4) weeks notice and she made a fantastic jester mask according to my requests. She maintained clear and consistent communication so I was always in the loop regarding her progress and the mask design. The delivery method she used was quick, simple and well worth the extra charge.

Always a great pleasure to visit Carla and Neels. They are like family....always see improvements they made and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Ideal stop between PE and Cape Town. You will not be dissapointed to visit.

Where can one start by complimenting Carla and her hubby? I drove into their property looking fpr accomodation for the evening, boy did I feel the warm of the place. Very welcoming people, i loved the whole setup. If you love nature this is the place. You are away from the city and you get to relax and enjoy nature. I would highly recommend Holt Hill to any nature lover
