Marie-Louise Landfill

Currently closed due to Covid. However, everytime I've tried to dump here, I'm asked for a bribe or told to dump outside on the pavement. Hounded by 20-30 men who will rip items out your vehicle.When you see illegal dumping, this is why.

What a joke. The dump in Lindhaven is closed. Drive to the pikitup depot on Main Reef road. they do not accepts dumping. They direct me to the landfill which, according to security is closed on a Weekend. (Saturday morning).And i used to wonder, why people dump on the roadsides.

Dont waste your time - you need to have an account with pikitup to use it.After making 13 calls to various numbers of pikitup unsuccessfully to find out where I can take my one bakkie load of building rubble, the call center of joburg city put me in touch with pikitup. They said the closest dumping site taking rubble from sandton is 30 km away in Soweto. (They call it Roodepoort but I have my doubts) Loading my bakkie with building rubble and taking the long drive there just to be turned away because you first have to go to pikitup offices somewhere else to open an account with them on which you again need proof of address etc etc.Really? It can only be a politician that can think this rubbish out to open an official account first at the offices at pikitup to dump one bakkie load of building rubble 30km away from your house?All you guys that dump illegally - you have my sympathy. I understand now. Most probably that building rubble is not going to get all the way to the pikitup site 30km away where you in any case cannot dump even if you are willing to pay for it.

Unable to dump thatch on a landfill site, 30km away from where we working, what should my customer now do with this thatch?????

Told to go and register in Braamfontein.We threw our rubble nearby where there is lot of rubbish. Securities came and said we r in trouble took bribe and disappeared.

I wouldn't go there again, you get stopped outside the gate and they raid your vehicle. The people outside have no regard for your property and just loot like animals

Only 1 load of rubble per day allowed.

Firstly: security advised me that I need to register and submit a form to offices in Braamfontein in order for me to dump there which makes it difficult if you only need to dump once or if you have time constraints. Secondly: Security advised me that I can go with some of the local homeless and they will help me to offload across the road (dump illegally across the road but at a fee) ( by means of a bribe) You need to register and pay to dump legally but only pay to dump illegaly. lastly: The harassment I got from the homeless is enough to discourage me to go back. I understand they are desperate but there must be some sort of order because they become violent. I will rather not go back.

The horribly situation at Marie louise landfillI got an account with pikitup but I am unable to damp rubbish .I am running a company but I can not damp Can someone explain cause security at the gate they always don't have a reason
