Unique handcrafted knives

Thanks for the kitchen knives Louis, arrived safely before Christmas. The kids took them back to Australia yesterday.

Interesting experience to visit Louis Naude Knives. Enjoyed a lovely chat with him and his wife, who is also an artist.

Louis Naudé , made me this unique knife from iron ore from Kumba , with a Wadeblatt blade and the handle made from a piece of wood from a 102 year-old olive tree which I bought in Greece, the black sheath has an inlay from the skin of a black cobra that his dogs killed near his house in Augrabies. This knife is absolutely unique, a custom design, master -handcrafted and the only one in the world. He said himself it’s “awesome-rouwend-ly beautiful!” Francois Schutte

If you are looking for an affordable handmade knife as unique, beautiful, tough, and robust as its origin, the Kalahari desert, I would venture to say this variety of knives are the best in SA.His knives will last you a lifetime in use, or please you equally on display. Went in to look at the knife collection. Quite small operation out of their house. Knives are hand made. Beautiful selection of knives. Cannot visit the workshop. You can ask them to make you a specific knife. Very friendly owners.

I received these two neck knives a year ago. I own a buch of neck knives. But none seem to just “work”. I dont collect neck knives, or knives in general, for that matter. All my knives are functional, working knives. In this case, either of these knives, are my last line of defense (bar my bare hands), as I stay on a farm in the Northwest Province in South Africa.They are the perfect balance of ergonomic design, fuctionality, razor edging, and aesthetics. A rare combination. I frequently use them for cutting tasks when my everyday carey knives are not on or near me. They are easily worn and hard wearing.
