We were told by the Broker that it included Funeral Cover only to find out that it is only if you pass away as the result of an accident - he flat out misrepresented to us and I will never ever deal with this company again. Goodbye Sirago and good luck with your disgusting company❗️

Hi Everyone,There should be minus stars. I'm loathe to give Sirago Gap Cover even 1 star.We've paid our gap cover premiums for around 8 years without really claiming.In January 2022 my husband needed a robotic prostatectomy for prostate cancer.Discovery have been fabulous but guess what, after months of slow, often contradictory, time consuming & stressful communication, Sirago has trotted out a clause (something like point 21.23) introduced since I took out our policy saying they don't cover robotic surgery.Eventually they forked out a paltry R 500 for my R 23 423 claim.Advances in medicine should be celebrated not used as an excuse not to pay out claims. Especially when robotics save time in hospital, trauma to patients, faster healing times and less chance of infection. All of which should save the underwriters money.

I applied to add a dependant on 11 January 2022 at 16h00. On 12 January 7h50, I received an SMS confirming it was done and the new policy schedule was sent and received by me at that stage. Totally unbelievable and set the scene for private health insurers on how to render service.

It is so difficult to deal with these people. I had a policy with GapX that was moved to Sirago. Best experience with GapX, Sirago only deals with you in automated mails. Response time is atrocious.

I can not fault Sirago Gap cover. All my claims have been paid without any trouble. Prompt service and the call centre ladies and gents are very friendly and helpfull. Spoke to Gloria a few times, 5* for excellent customer service.

I’m seriously considering changing gap cover providers. I have been waiting for almost 2 months and Sirago still hasn’t resolved my claim for my daughters birth. Feedback that I always receive is that it is with the assessors. The claim process with my first born was seamless. However, claims that I’ve submitted this year have all had a very long turnaround time. Disappointing and extremely frustrating.

In spite of continual extremely low ratings and irate and dissatisfied customers, Sirago continues to disappoint. Only generic replies and apologies, not to mention a personal undertaking by the CEO Martin (on google review previously), to investigate personally and yet still nothing. Stay away from this crowd its not worth the aggravation. They have a complaints" email which obviously doesn't exist and even escalating it to Genric legal or to the very many email addresses available has met with no joy. I have been waiting for 7 gap cover claims from 7 January already. Every time it come to them paying out my gap cover they need another piece of paper. Now I pay people at Sirago to make the dreadful situation of being in hospital better. But first I need to call all the doctors and hospitals and get 1çd10 codes. The codes for the procedures, now they tell me I must provide more information they want a list of all the medication and all the plasters I used before I get my co payment back. I have spent almost R900 just calling them! I am livid!!!information under details. Bat

I am beyond frustrated with Sirago! My elderly mother is your client who pays her monthly premium diligently, but has had such slack service it is now beyond unacceptable. Having had spinal surgery in May, her claim is not settled yet as Sirago is refusing to pay a doctor for services rendered in the operating theatre for which she has received authorisation by her Medical Aid (Discovery). We have sent and received numerous emails and supporting documents to no avail - it takes at least 6 days on average to get feedback on correspondence. That is if I don't phone myself - holding on for ages. Sirago tells the doctor that there is some exclusion on the policy, but we are not informed at all. I still don't know what the exclusion is. This is poor client service, discussing our matters with the doctor and not with the policy holder. If we do not get this settled within the next week I am taking this to the Ombudsman.

An absolute HORRIBLE company to deal with. They are trying there utmost to avoid paying - with multiple requests for documents again and again and again just to try and see if they can get out of paying what they should. Incompetance does not describe them. With a Co-payment of R 7,500 for an operation, the doctor gave us a discount of around R 3,000 (which benefits them), and we paid the R 4,500. They only want to pay the R 3,000 and not the R4,500, even proving with a doctors receipt that we paid the R 4,500. How stupid. Definately cancelling and definately not recommending them.Changed from 1 star to 3 stars.We were contacted by Sirago actually before we could respond to the mail provided here. The matter has been resolved and we are thankful. We did try to escilate the matter twice before reviewing the company here, and their processes needs to be fine tuned as we had no joy, but after writing a bad review the matter was resolved the same day! Anyway, thank you for sorting it out, you have another chance to keep me as a client. Review stars changed...
