Gooderson Monks Cowl Golf Resort

Used the putt-putt course for our annual family putt-putt championship. Sadly the course was full of leaves from the storm earlier on the morning. And this is supposed to be season, so attending to detail should be evident. Still, we had fun....but had to fetch drinks from the bar. Fine for the first round, but perhaps if the staff are on point.....they just might notice a party of 8 having fun on the putt-putt course and come on down and see if the can take a second or third or fourth round of drinks.....no way......and we were the only people to be seen around....not like they were run of their feet.We then decided to have lunch.3 hours after the storm the tables were still soaked with water, not wiped down. The service was non-existent, the food poor,....burger patties so overcooked as to be almost inedible, chicken schnitzel over cooked and dry, pizza base was not freshly baked, I won't go so far as to say warmed up.....butThe chili served as a side was excellent though. No sign of manager or supervision....shows in the lack lustre attitude of the staff.

Had lunch at the restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient. Crumbled chicken was tough. Crumbs were more like a batter. Chips were stodgy. Expensive for what we got

I have not stayed here but visit regularly as hubby golfs. I find the staff friendly and accommodating. I do use the Spa on the premises and have always had great service.

The place was ok, seems they have relaxed on general maintenance. The facilities were not really up to scratch, under maintained pool by the slides and a jacuzzi that's out of order.I couldn't fault them on the restaurant, as it unfortunately burnt down. The units were ok we enjoyed it as it was something different away from the city. Had room service while we're were away and unfortunately had a missing bottle afterwards, all the reception could tell us via email was that their staff would never do such without a proper investigation.Can't say I'd ever visit the place again, must say Dragons View Hotel up the road was amazing and kind of uplifted our stay in the area, we wished we actually booked there for our stay. Maybe consider booking there first.

Staff very friendly, food is great, golf course was in good condition (better on the Monday - greens had been mowed?) and scenery is breath-taking. Good value.

Everything about this place is great. However their wifi is almost never working or quite slow..its also limited to 500MB a day. Its perfect for those who want to switch off and relax far away from the hustle and bustle. There is a lot to do around the place. You'll never be bored.

A little gem of a place especially when you travel on a budget. The manager is super friendly, very helpful and ensure that all requirements are met. From lactose and gluten free substitutes to lekker pizzas.A nice family retreat, with a really nice golf course.

Staff are very friendly. I would strongly recommend dining at their restaurant. The food and hospitality is excellent.
