I have been here many times. Almost always in the evenings. The service has always been good. Staff have always been knowledgeable and friendly.Today I came to lunch with my wife and found that the service isn't as great. The staff seem to be very distracted despite the place not being too busy.Our waitress, took the drinks order and then returned with my wife's drink and not the water that I requested. When I asked for it, it was brought with what seemed like great irritation. We then ordered a second round, where my wife requested a single gin to pour into her original glass, and I ordered a Guinness. The gin was served in a tall glass with ice cubes. When we pointed out the issue it was decanted into a shot glass and presented to us. Upon tasting it we found that it was severely watered down and another gin was quickly poured by the bartender and served by the waitress. Once again my drink was forgotten. Eventually the Guinness did arrive and it was good.Eventually the food was served and it was great, as usual but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.In these days of wearing masks and hidden faces, great service should shine through but at the very least people should have manners. This should be taught as one of the fundamentals of the service industry, and of course as to society as a whole.Durban has many great dining options these days. I don't think I will be going to Franks again any time soon.

Great atmosphere , great service , amazing food .The de boned peri peri chicken is a favorite as well as their brilliant thin based pizzas.Be sure to look at the chalk board next to the bar for special meals .

I decided to grab a bite while my car was being washed. Conveniently located in the Flanders Mall in Mount Edgecombe .Great Tuna lolipop starter. Service was fast due to the place being relatively quiet.I've been here on numerous occasions, food is good, staff can be a bit more friendly and attentive. They seemed distracted on more than one occasion.FF 11/06/2023I ordered some takeaway. Reached home, which is 2 minutes away, and to my horror, the oil had leaked through the takeaway container and brown paper bag onto the seat of the car.Totally unacceptable. It's obvious that given the nature of the dish, proper precautions were not taken when packing. There are plenty of environmentally friendly leak-proof packaging options out there. Or even lining the paper bag with serviettes.

I've visited Frank's a few times before and have had amazing food. I raved about the tuna lollipops for weeks before going and so we ordered but then found them to be a bit dry and overdone, not quite how I remembered them. The special of the day was a salmon but when it arrived and I questioned the grey colour I was told that it was a cape salmon, and very overcooked, the waiter just shrugged when I asked. But the drinks were good and the other meals were great. Perhaps the chef was just having a bad day, or a new chef.

The best peri-peri chicken I would go as far to say in the world, coupled with their friendly staff they clearly have a goal of providing world-class service; I can’t wait to go back and try the balance of their menu

Went to Frank's for my birthday celebration lunch ,it was very cosy and not so busy. The service was excellent and the waitress was quick. The food was very average but nothing too bad. Not too crazy about the food as their menu had too little options. I would definitely come back for the fact that its cosy and not too noisy.
