Klein Boschkloof

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at Klein Boschkloof – we stayed in Ou Huis. It is a lovely old cottage with a great braai area and a beautiful garden full of fruit trees – the mulberry tree is amazing. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen has all the appliances you would need.During our stay, the shower was leaking and after every shower there was water all over the bathroom floor. We did mention this to the owner so before booking please check that this has been repaired as this was mentioned on a previous review posted a year ago.As the cottages water is supplied from the well point and stored in tanks it is not possible to shower during load-shedding.The pool was not cleaned once during our stay so was full of sand at the bottom …Oranges can be bought from the farm but not picked from the trees.Although Klein Boschkloof claims to have a four-star rating from the Tourism Council, we could not find them listed on the Tourism Council website.

A perfect synergy created by the host, keeping the past alive whilst adding modern conveniences to a 150 plus year old farmhouse set in amazing gardens. A quiet and luscious venue to recharge the soul. All very clean and well equipped with a very professional host. We summarily added another 2 days to our planned stay. Highly recommend.

Could be a magnificent place but not maintain ed at all. Gardens are seriously neglected. Quite a disappointment, definitely not 4 star rating at all.

What a great place, so peaceful and private and way big inside , and the owner helped me big time , very accommodating and friendly.

Excellent accommodation. Restoration of cottages done in character. Lovely old feel. Amenities great. Well equipped. Service friendly. Special stay.

Beautiful location, our cottage was in the middle of an orange grove which was idyllic. The walk down Boskloof road is also highly recommended. The pets and wildlife are certainly not a nuisance as described by another reviewer, and is all part of the farm charm. I do recommend however that they update and replace some of the old crockery and utensils, and should definitely bring your own towel. A lovely weekend, with plenty of activities to do in such a gorgeous area!

Our cottage had a wooden fire, WiFi, bbq area and air-conditioning. We had a lawn and our kids loved splashing in the stream. Very close to Clanwilliam with an amazing night sky..

Most terrible host/owner behaviour. We paid all our dues in advance just to realise that their behaviour is completely opposing their 4* claim. They need updates and restoration from leaking shower and loose taps etc. Totally shocked by their nonchalant behaviour and problematic dogs and cats. What a off putting behaviour .... they should be degraded and I will reporting them to Tourism Council......Re: KLEIN BOSCHKLOOF CHALETS, CLANWILLIAMWhy have this management/ownership never commented or compensated. They should be removed from all entertainment platforms!!

We enjoyed every moment of our 9 - day stay here. Beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and magnificent!
