Designer Curtaining & Fabrics

Responding to Shirley Kruger .Mrs Shirley Kruger is a client of ours who we provided a curtain service to. she came in with a quote from another company, we assisted her advising her that she should use a total block-out lining. Her initial quote was using total block-out at the back with a fabric called shernice stone from Papini trading in Durban, at that time they was no stock of the fabric and the client agreed to wait until the fabric arrives. After few days she came in refusing the block-out and insisted on a semi-block-out which most companies refers to 80% block-out. The sales lady brought a sample of the semi- block-out and put it under the fabric that the client chose to show her the effect she then approved the order and made a payment on the 9th of October via internet .The client supplied us with a fabric for her couches there was no specification of changing the design, adding new fillings so we recovered the couches as they were given to us.[attachment 3]THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW HER COUCHES MAY HAVE LOOKED 20 YEARS AGO.There was no specification on how she wanted her fabric blinds. Our company does a waterfall blind and she wanted the folds under each other. Every company works differently and a client need to specify what she wants.On the day of installation, the installers had to take off existing rails and install new rails obviously leaving holes in the wall which they polyfillered in one of the rooms the client asked them to move the rail away from the wall. We notified her it will leave a hole and she agreed she will do the touch up after we polyfillered the hole.We advised the client not to go very full on the block-out as it will bunch up against the sheer curtains, during the installation she kept hounding at the installers that the gathers are not enough and they must take the lining back. The next day she came in complaining that she is not happy with the gathering of the curtains, we immediately sent out my lady who sorted out everything and i personally called the client to follow up where she advised that she was very happy now.When the fabric for her curtains arrived she insisted thats not the one she chose even though its written in her order copy, the client was totally confused looking for the fabric in another book, i was prepared to change the fabric to satisfy the client but the client said she does not want to deal with us. It is evident from the attachments that we received the fabric from papini trading and not a look alike as the client accuses.

I ordered curtains from DC&F and received cheap imitations of what I ordered, and the worst ever workmanship. The upholstery was done shamelessly disgusting. See the photo’s attached. During installation Shamla complained about bad treatment and payment from her employer Tahera. My order was executed totally unacceptable and eventually I took the curtains back to their shop. Tahera who was never present in her shop when I was there refused to hear and see the truth and after much correspondence with her are still confused about what really transpired. Even after the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud did an investigation and found her to be liable to pay me back. Her response was a lie and still refuses to take responsibility. After the Small Claims Court hearing once the courts are functioning again, I will bring this review up to date.Be prepared to be shocked by the quality of work they deliver.

The service I received from Designer Curtaining & Fabric was excellent. I supplied them with fabric and I ordered by block out lining from them. Expecting to wait 2 weeks for my curtains received a call 4 days later that my curtains are ready for collection. The workmanship on the curtain were excellent and they hang beautifully. I have had Roman blinds done with them before and was also very impressed with them. Thank you very much for your excellent service. Will continue to use you for my curtaining and blind needs.

Absolutely useless.....

This shops has old fabrics, very little options for choice. Wasn't a good material shopping experience.
