Tomson Motors

I took my Hilux to Tomson in January this year to have the rear wheel bearings replaced. It had never had any oil leaks. Service was initially good and I got the bakkie back quite quickly. They also noticed and fixed a few other issues.However, the axle oil seals failed shortly afterwards. They repaired it again. Then they failed again. They fixed it again. It's now October and they've failed again.I'm outside the 6 month window of the warranty conferred by the CPA, and I'm not interested in a fight. I only took my bakkie to Tomson because my usual mechanic was on holiday. It's now with him to be repaired again. I couldn't care less that I have to pay him to fix someone else's work, I just want it to be sorted out.Avoid Tomson Motors.--EDIT:The owner contacted me after posting the above review, and has refunded the costs of the wheel bearings initially charged to me in January.

CAREFUL I DON'T TRUST THEM. My dad took his Mercedez bclass for a service, 17 Jan '23 invoice num IN052434 bill was almost R8999, 83. When he came to visit me in JHB, I told him we'll do the brakes cos Tomson was expensive when the mechanic opened the bonet and start working he said nothing was done. Plugs not changed, filter not replaced.oil was old. Really nothing was done they just wash the car and gave it back. When my dad went to confront them they denied it, even he took pictures and old parts to show them. They rip him off a pensioner, SHAME ON YOU

Thank you to Willem and his team for ALWAYS offering great customer service whether it's over the phone, in person or via email. They always do more than what's expected and go above the norm. You are solid gold!

I cannot recommend this company less. They will use backyard mechanic tactics to avoid repairing damage they caused. I had my car serviced by them and now I have a broken radio system and a scratch on the hood of my car.Full review on Hello Peter

I've had excellent service at Tomson Motors 3 out of 3 times. I highly recommend them - friendly, thorough and efficient service at a reasonable price.

The service was outstanding. My son's car had a warning light which I was concerned about. I was asked to bring it in immediately, they checked it, sorted out the issue which was nothing major and didn't charge me at all. It's a relief knowing that my kids who are students in stellenbosch have some where helpful and reliable to take the car to for its next service and in the event of something going wrong. I highly recommend them!.

Excellent service! I booked an appointment for a noise coming under my vehicle. The mechanic drove with me in my car to listen for the noise and put it up on the car lift afterwards to check the issue. They immediately found the problem which happened to be a loose brake caliper, it was tightened and my problem fixed in under 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend doing business with them, they are professional and get the job done asap.

I’m from KZN and my car was leaking power steering oil. My dad phoned Willem and even though he was busy he said I could come in and he would check it out. Had a wonderful experience with Tomson Motors who were extremely helpful and Kind. I was out within 5 minutes. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I was recommented them by a friend. They were able to explain to me in easy to understand terms as to what was discovered from the shock absorber test they performed. I waiting only a few minutes for the test to be performed. And will go back shortly to get my new shocks installed.

I received a free service and thankfully some other issues were discovered which were addressed all in a time span of about four hours. Fantastic service! My car drives like new and they cleaned it inside out! Thank you so much Willem and team, really appreciate your help today.
