I have a 5-month-old SMEG Kettle. This is the 2nd SMEG kettle with issues. POOR QUALITY OF MATERIALS USED. Apparently, I have to take it back to the store & the store will send it fm KZN to JHB to be repaired. Once repaired, it will be returned to the store in KZN for me to collect. In the meantime, for over 1month I have to buy another kettle.A kettle is needed daily . I believe it will be easier for all concerned if the kettle was replaced with a new or demo model. My kettle is only 5 months old & the problem is that the materials used is of POOR quality.SEE ATTACHED PICTURES, you decide if you want to buy the SMEG brand.

Let's start with the products. The products are great, we have a number Of Smeg appliances and generally all good.Now, for the backup by the importers. My experience so far hasn't been pleasant. When you call for assistance you definitely get this undertone of arrogance. We're busy and can't help you yet, just wait type attitude. You feel as if your concern has no importance and judging by their responsiveness it doesn't.I've spoke to two seperate people and it's the same attitude. I've emailed for assistance and no response.I've learnt a valuable lesson about Smeg customer service and I'd suggest that for any big appliances, that have a longer life span, choose an alternative brand. The small appliances that generally don't require backup service you should still be fine.

Very excited to get Smeg appliances. Worst choice ever. There is just no service from SMEG South Africa. My kettle had a water leakage - they told me I have to buy a new one. Smeg gas/electric stove igniters not working - trying to get somebody to assist me for more than 3 months and still waiting. Will never ever recommend SMEG to anyone.

Got a smeg kettle 28 January was not working by 30 January so I returned it to store. Was leaking water switched off after starting to Hb oil for a few seconds then resumed boiling after a minute. This is the most overrated product I’ve ever had. Looks beautiful on the eye but really not a good buy. The kettle is heavy so my kid needs help pouring if she wants to use it. The lid is a problem it takes about 4-5 times of pressing the lid until it eventually opens. Really would not recommend this product.

The worst Smeg experience ever. If a heavy pot was dropped this stove will shatter, common sense and a bit of science. Tried to give many opportunities to Smeg to fix privately. Just exhausted with their suppliers bad attitudes and the blaming. Poor installation, poor arrogant suppliers. Please refund me I am done with this poor service.

My entire kitchen is fitted with SMEG. What a mistake. It is an overpriced poor quality product. I have been trying to get my coffee machine to make hot coffee for over a year. Please SMEG put me out of my misery and come fetch it. My Kettles branding fell off after a month it's now a ME (funny it's the only appliance that works).Toaster is toated. Microwave is broken and I don't even have the courtesy to return my calls and explain why after a month it's not fixed. My gas stove I skip a heart beat every time I turn it on. The dishwasher makes the glasses murky. Enough said. Defy will last and save you loads of money.

Received a number of gifts as a wedding present from smeg , had to return my kettle and toaster , and recently opened my hand blender set, the actual product looks discolored compared to the attachments , the store I bought it from says there’s nothing they can doDisappointing products
