Old Toll House Montagu Pass
What a breathtaking view of George! The staff is very friendly and there is some great history on George to get to know. Definitely worth the travel and visit for every local and tourist in town!

Old Toll House Montagu Pass
This was our first visit to the Old Toll House. We were very impressed with the manner in which the historic building and surrounds have been restored and are maintained. Well done to all involved. The pancakes and coffee were great too. Ideal pitstop for cyclists and bikers.

You can donate funds to aid the restoration of this beautiful historic building. Details can be found on a sign at the Old Toll House. Do yourself a favour and continue on with the Montague pass and enjoy the picturesque scenery. On the downhill" side of the pass you can enjoy wine tasting and a glorious cheese platter at Herold Wines. Definitely worth the travel. The road is gravel but accessible by all vehicles."

We had hiked Pilgrimage of Hope from Herold to Old Toll house. Gerda and her son awaited us with yoghurt and fresh fruit, tasty Roosterkoek with cheese and jam. Coffee with condensmelk and pancakes. What a yreat

Beautiful picnic place, even has an outside pizza oven which can be used as well as braai options. The little museum inside the Toll house is beautiful. A true gem!!

Old Toll House Montagu Pass
Beautifully restored historic building with lots of ambience. Freshly made coffee, hot chocolate and pancakes. Staff is friendly and passionate about the place. Wonderful to see communities pull together to preserve heritage and to make it accessible for visitors. Well worth any detour.
