I was quite disappointed by the attitude of the manager today. My friend from Eswatini who is a guest here with me at C12 along with his young son (we booked here for six nights) told me that he asked the bar maid to play his choice of music today. The bar manager then arrived and said “you will scare off my guests” and told him to turn it off. In fact the lady serving warned Nhlanhla that this would happen. Well he is a guest. The comment smacks of the very unpleasant attitude which I thought that South Africa had moved beyond. It’s a shame because I had begun to like the place (Sodwana Bay Lodge) and hoped to come back again.In addition, you let Afrikaners play their music as I witnessed myself. So why not the other guests. Some terrible music was playing on my first trip to the bar.The impression you give is that you only value your white guests.On check out, I spoke to someone (not the bar manager) who said that my claim was one person's word against another and that the bar manager claimed that my friend had been playing it too loudly and had been asked to turn it down. Sorry, this is not true.

We were very disappointed coming here. When we tried to order anything we were told that the person who makes that isn't here. All we wanted was some drinks and something to eat for the kids which in the end they could make us some tea and chips. The waitress was friendly but didn't really know what was going on and the manager that was present every now and then could not care less wether we were there or not and was really not willing to help.The pool needed a clean and a lot of general repairs and maintenance is need on the place - especially the bar downstairs and pool area.Luckily there are other great options around that were out of the estate. I definitely won't be going back.

It was my second time going there today and I must say that the chef that prepares the seafood might not know how to handle it. The fish was mushy and not at all pleasant. The first time around , the calamari was under and far too chew. However I enjoy the chicken livers but would suggest rolls instead of plain bread. The prices are very afforable.

We eat here every morning and evening of our trip. Incredibly nice staff (we got wished a happy women’s day) and a decent number of options. The vegetable curry is amazing—I had it four nights in a row!
