Pelo Chicken

My mother bought wings & chips today for me as I am admitted at Groote Schuur hospital. We both have never tried this restaurant before but I'm so disappointed. The wings were off (expired) and burnt. The chips were burnt and with rotten spots. I ended up having to eat the chips cos I was hungry. Worst food experience of my life. Please don't bother eating from this place, clearly they don't value our health.

Pelo Chicken is great! Place is clean and neat. Owners and staff very professional and friendly. Great service and the best chakalaka in town! ❤️❤️❤️

The portion of chips I payed R50 for chips that look like R10s worth that to me is bad. It states large but yet it looks less then a medium that u get at a fisheries. You guys need to improve I'm Def not ordering again by u guysThank you

Decided to try out the gatsby on their menu. A few notes that I hope will add value to the restaurant and owners:- Chicken was well cooked, however, the sweet sauce on top was an overpowering flavour throughout.- The garnish was delightful and fresh- The chips were way undercooked, some even partially raw. Very disappointing as you expect 'slapchips'- Everything, including the chicken and chips, was under seasoned. Had to add heaps of salt to get the flavor out.- Lastly it was delivered cold.*I believe if the chips were properly cooked and seasoned with a super spice it would have made the worlds difference. The chicken needs smokey, spicey flavour and some acidity. We added a smoked hot sauce and vinegar to help knock in some flavour.*The food was delivered in record time, still arrived cold

I can not believe the quality vs the price and friendly service - I looooove my chicken - good job guys!

Pelo is honestly something else. I have no idea how the place is still running. The chicken seems like it was sourced from the cheapest place possible and tastes genuinely strange. I don't know how to describe it.I struggle to comprehend how they think that they can even slightly compete against KFC and Nandos on taste, especially when the prices are pretty much on par.Also, my uber eats driver had to wait over an hour for you guys, so selfish and inconsiderate

What a treat. We loved our Pelo Chicken dinner. The buffalo wings were incredible!! My son couldn't stop eating them. The chips were so tasty and we really enjoyed our meal. Thank you @Pelochicken we will definitely order again!!
