Nobody to open the gate, waited, phoned. No hot water, had to report first. No spoons to make coffee. No cutlery. We had a braai, couldn't make salad even. Next morning No water. Rooms are clean and neat, though.

I don't normally leave reviews but a bride thought it acceptable to book me into this place based off of the google reviews so I thought it best to give a detailed one.I was pretty annoyed by this overnight stay (I didn't sleep well, you could hear the mice running inside the ceiling) and I now wish I had taken pictures of the rooms:A hair stylist and I were booked into this accommodation by a wedding planner for a wedding in the province. We arrived on the evening of 5 March at 20:30 and was assigned rooms 16 and 17. The inn keeper was very friendly and even though the kitchen staff had left, he offered to make us bacon and eggs. But as I am vegetarian and we had been on the road for 5.5 hours it was not an ideal solution. We did manage to get a meal from a nearby lodge. The rooms were small (not a problem), completely basic (wire shelving as opposed to built-in wardrobe) but our gripe was that there were mice nesting in the ceiling and in the one room. There were mouse droppings by the bedside table, cobwebs in the corners of the rooms, spiders and tiny black bugs on all the surfaces. These rooms had clearly not been cleaned recently nor checked in a while. The mice problem, bugs and spiders could not have happened overnight. I've stayed in the most high end and some very basic accommodation but this place stands out for the wrong reasons. It wasn't clean. How much effort could it have taken to check the room before guest arrival and give it a dust and a sweep? No early breakfast was arranged for us but I blame this on the wedding planner who simply didn't care enough to consider organising this.Stay here if you really are not phased by bugs, dust and living the simple life. We only saw this place in the dark as we arrived and left in the dark but it looks like an attractive camping type of spot.

Perfectly located camping and/or chalet option, just before the SA/Bots borderpost. Would've given 5 stars, but on 2 occasions we stayed over, the kitchen closed early, so we had to sort ourselves out for food. That said, rooms were clean, they have a generator running everything (including aircons) during loadshedding, and the linen and pillows were comfortable. The park is neat and clean and well kept - and I would certainly recommend it to friends.

Big Fig is good for a stop over after crossing the border. I have stayed din the rooms and camped (this time we camped, its a bit noisy if u camp becauseits adjacent to the road). The camping grounds have lovely grass, power and water. We arrived after the restaurant had closed but Happy came to open for us and made us a great meal! The menu is quite extensive and the food is reasonably priced and fresh. The ablutions are okay but need some more attention and maybe a do-over.

Rooms and camping. Shaded grassed campsites. Restaurant on site. Huge fig trees. Well kept lawns. Adequate ablutions. Perfect stopover when crossing to/from Botswana at Groblersbrug.

For the amount we had to pay things can most defnitely improve. Place itself is beautiful but rooms are lacking far behind. 1 ply toiletpaper that is almost shreads, no tea and coffee after 10 hours drive, nowhere it gets mentioned to bring own tea and coffee and then 1 bath towel between 2 people, unacepptable. Ben was awesome and welcoming and the food was very nice, although it was not what we ordered while still on the road.
