Zulu Rock Lodge - Babanango Game Reserve

My girlfriend and i have a seen a lot of beautiful places in the world but the Zulu Rock Lodge was by far the best stay in our entire life. We arrived and the staff gave us an welcome drink and a cold towel. They were super friendly en showed us around. The views were spectacular and so breath taking. We booked the honeymoon suite (please book, you won’t regret). This was the best choice ever since this room has his own swimming pool and once again an breath taking view. We stayed there for 3 nights and it was still way to short. The housekeeping did a really excellent job. They cleaned the room twice a day. They did a so called ‘turn down’ service (closing curtains, turning on ac, make up the bed, clean and a lot of amazing extra’s), which was amazing en very nice. The staff was so nice and caring and really took the time to listen to our wishes we had during the stay (how many gamedrives, breakfast, lunch, dinner times, extra’s like stargazing etc.) The game drives were amazing and well organized. Our tourguide was brilliant and very passionate about the reserve and its biodiversity. The reserve is working hard to become a big five reserve, but the diversity of animals is already huge! Everything, literally everything was amazing. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful hillside reserve with amazing views all around. We were surprised when we entered the gate and arrived at the parking lot by the guide/ranger that picked us up with a game viewing vehicle. From there on it was another 10-15 min drive up to the lodge on a 4x4 only road. First views of the animals included.The staff was extraordinary friendly and thoughtful. By arrival we were greeted with small towels and a drink for refreshment. In the hotel itself you feel right at home and enjoy amazing views from about everywhere.The rooms/little houses have a breathtaking view and even a little oven you can also enjoy from your balcony.Game drives were every morning and evening with always the same guide. In our case we were blessed with Theo, a wonderful man that not only showed us the animal world around us but also told us a lot about Zulu life and traditions. The drives were extraordinary and never the same as the one before.All around it was the perfect experience and we couldn‘t hope for something more!We will definitely come back.

The food is absolutely 5 star gourmet meals, the staff is wonderful and kind especially our guide Artiste who was so well knowledgeable on the reserves animals and vegetation making the game drives absolutely wonderful with his wit and sense of humor, the rooms are breathtaking perfect combination of modern and safari!

Definitely coming back. Staff is very friendly and good service. It was cold during our stay, but they ensured we were warm at all times. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is amazing and kind. Our place was stunning. All that was missing was a Spa. Given how secluded the place is, a spa is absolutely needed.

This lodge is an undiscovered gem. The views from room 6, must be amongst the top 10 in the country. The staff is friendly and helpful, in a relaxed manner, and it is a relaxed ambiance. The gamedrives and guides are knowledgeable and friendly. The reserve in the process of becoming a big 5 reserve, with planned releases of lion, elephant and cheetah in the very near future.It is certainly going to become a bucket list insider tip" for regular safari goers

The staff politeness, kindness, gentleness and respectfulness was at the peak of the highest bar. From the time we arrived, guided over the phone by Kwanele, than reception to and from lodge and game rides by TK and Theo was exceptional gentle, kind and precise. I can not name them all but all services given were with a greatest pleasure. Room service to setting our fire.The food was exquisite and delicious.The room was of 5 star standard and setup. Smelled and looked clean. The balcony, private pool, view was just breathtaking. Pictures don’t do justice to this establishment.I would highly recommend and refer.Perfect for all occasions

Swimming pool was not clean on arrival. Lunch meal was not so great, Wifi signal was very weak. Amazing views

It was an absolute wonderful experience staying at this Reserve. The views were extraordinary, the staff were friendly and always helpful and the food was delicious. Will certainly highly recommend this lodge for aromantic and tranquil getaway!
